In modern society, there is a growing dislike of politicians. Many people do not respect them, one of important reasons is that some officials in government do not fulfill their work and behave immorally or amorally. We should pay attention to some anxious social climbers who have no other passion but a craving for getting power as much as possible. They seem to separate politics from morality and to reach their goal by all sorts of methods, morally, or immorally. The results of this trend are dangerous, so we should emphasize the important role of morality in the politics and try to let morality and politics to develop together and healthily.

First of all, politicians themselves should behave morally to accomplish their work. Let us get down to some fundamentals and agree that politicians are human beings living in the society, just like our ordinary people. The differences between them and common people are that they have been entitled a different job by the people and have more power. Nevertheless, some officials feel that they are in a higher status than common people and need not to obey the moral norms which are widely observed by the common. I have read many reports about some officials in little county in China, who ran out directly after their car hitting some people, without getting off the car to see how victims hurt or taking them to the hospital. The result is that the local people have some hatred to the government and do not observe the local policies. Another example in the point is that an official in Jiangxi Province in China, who is in charge of the construction of a dam for the Yangzi River. In the process of choosing which company is qualified for building the dam, the official took bribes from one unqualified company, and let it undertake the task. As a result, the dam collapsed only after one year because of the problem of quality, and hundreds of people died of that accident. Similar disasters caused by irresponsible officials happened everywhere in China. Admittedly, I do not expect every politician to become a perfect person without any shortcomings. But some basic moral norms they should obey such as honesty, probity and so forth, especially in their work.

Second, politics's goal is to develop an independent, prosperous, and democratic society, which inevitably needs the morality. Morality is an amorphous power existing in human's deep heart. One has been taught to act morally when one is still a child. When playing with other children, one will not be allowed to take other children's toys and fight with others. To adults, the power of morality becomes greater. It encourages a person to study and work hard. If all the people work hard, the economics will accrue dramatically, and the quality of people's lives will increase. Then, the goal of politics will be easily reached. On the other hand, if the government only emphasize the construction of material things, and neglect the morality, the economic development will not be health. For instance, Taliban, one former government in Afghanistan, undertook drug business, and finally, it was supplanted by another government.

All in all, there are some people who neglect the power of morality and only pursue the power and profit for themselves. It is very dangerous. For one thing, their immoral behavior is shameful and will tarnish the reputation of the government. For another, they will tend to break the law and commit crimes. Those officials should particularly pay attention to this problem, because their fault in work is sometimes more harmful than ordinary people.

我认为文章的题目有两个关键词：separate, understand。我很同意本文作者对于understand的理解，即对于政治和道德二者关系的把握。第一段作者谈了道德政治家的工作需要，举了两个反面例子，意在说明没有道德，政治家的工作必然失败，这里如果能举出一个正面例子，可能更便于帮助读者的思路展开。第二段讲政治的终极目标需要道德。我觉得人去讲政治事件很困难的事，后面的例子最好能够围绕政治的载体去写，这样一来两个分论点意思会有交叉的地方。我建议可以把第一个论点细化，即把政治家的工作需要分几个层次，比如竞选的时候，他们可能为了拉选票做些违背道德的工作（作为让步），但一旦当选就要把实现竞选诺言作为工作重点，当然这期间是要维护道德准则的。第二方面又可以从正反举例子。不知你的看法如何？

多谢gdhdanny这么认真仔细的帮我看文章，受益非浅。这篇文章我在写完后还是改过一遍语法错误的。没想到还是有这么多毛病，呵呵。
我自己也感觉第一段写的比第二段好。第二段本来想从宏观的角度来讲的，但是在文字上驾御不住。感觉上也许加一些政府对道德的宣传方面的事例会好些。
至于第一段加一个让步的观点。我也想过，不过一是没想清楚，比如拉选票时做违背道德的事情能够被承认吗？有没有什么具体的例子？二是这个度很难把握。很容易写成自相矛盾，呵呵。

If everyone could accomplish his work perfectly, the whole society will develop quickly. So in order to reach the goal of politics, the government should publicize the exemplars of all sorts of occupations and encourage people to work hard and behave morally. On the other hand, if the government only emphasize the construction of material things, and neglect morality, the economic development will not be healthy. For instance, Taliban, one former government in Afghanistan, undertook drug business instead of encouraging social morality, and therefore, was supplanted by another government.

还有个问题，你加入的部分讲的是人遇到困难后坚持道德的结果，感觉上离政治还是远了点。其实很好改，把a man说成a politician，再把后面的困难政治化，就很好了 ;)
