可以 but that AREA has to be located in your city and is your favorite place that you want to demonstrate

i think it's more like a REGION of the city, not a specific place. like you can say my fav area is the city downtown because there's a lot of places for entertainment like the cinema and the shopping center.. or my fav area is the suburb because my city is surrounded by mountains and we often go on day trips to hike in the suburb...
