Are You Going to Get Fired Next Week?
Have you been asked to compile a report on all your active projects?
Are you being pushed hard to finish a few specific projects?
Were you told to skip doing any long-term planning?
Have invitations to meetings stop coming?
Did you recently get your first poor review?
Has your expense report been questioned?
Are your normal expenses being criticized?
Is your boss is keeping his distance from you?
Does the conversation stop when you walk into a room?
Do you have a vague sense of unease?
How many "yes" answers did you give to the above questions?
Zero or one: You're safe.
Two to five: Watch out, these are danger signs. Two or three may be coincidence . . . but with four or five, the evidence is more compelling.
Six or more: You're already fired, you just don't know it yet.
