------题目------
It is often necessary, even desirable, for political leaders to withhold information from the public.
------正文------
Political leaders are significant for a nation in that they lead the nation developing and advancing ceaselessly. But there is another problem related to it, that is whether the political should withhold information from public or not. As far as I am concerned, the political leaders should open most of the information to the public, however, some information should be kept secret to the public.

First of all, it is the public's right to know most of information of the country. In today's democratic society, the government and political leaders are elected to keep the stability of the society, prompt a nation advancing, and service for the ordinary people. In this sense, it is not only necessary, but also desirable for the public to know information to judge whether the government and political leaders are competent and whether to reelect them. Under the supervision of the public, the political leaders would fulfill their responsibility with all their strength to avoid the denying of the public and our society will be on a right track to develop. On the contrary, if the government and political leaders withhold information from the public, they would be malfeasant, even be corrupt without any fear and scruple of the exposure of their malfeasance and corruption. If so, we cannot imagine what the world would be.

Besides, public is a extremely important strength to construct and develop the society, they can do more contribution with the information of the society. As a significant part of the society, the public can work together with the government  and political leader to cope with difficulty, and provide good suggestion for the development of the country. Take the construction of Sanxia Dam in China as an example. Undoubtedly, it brings the country great benefit, but at the same time, it also generate lots of problems. Thus the Chinese government collect almost all nation's opinions about the dam. Finally, they make a conclusion that the benefit of the dam is greater than its side-affect, and the Word's biggest dam started to be constructed. Furthermore, some information is significant for the public to know and work together to cope with, if not, the society would be in chaos. When the SARS first occurred in Beijing, the mayor of Beijing keep the information secret, it is his foolish decision result in the break out of SARS throughout the whole nation.

However, although it is significant for the public to know most information to know most of information about the society, some information is not fit for the public to know at all. Some information is about the safety and secret of the nation, if the public knows this, it means all the people in the world know this. The countries would lose the advantage of development, even be in danger. See the some fruit of technology, the information of a counties' army, and so on, are all unsuitable for the public to know.

In conclusion, the public know the suitable information to supervise the political leader and make more contribution to our society.
