If we investigate the social problems in different nations, we would be surprised at the similarities such as abuse, abortion, drugs, pollution, and so on. It is meaningful for all nations in establishing an international university for students and teachers to work together. Such cooperation could be helpful for us to solve those common social problems.

To begin with, people need more communication between the nations, religions, races and cultures. The past thousand years saw a series of problems which reflect the lack of communication. Such as the crusade in the Middle Age, was the conflict between different religions. European believed that they would save the Holy Land and the people living in the Middle East, while they did not realize whether those people need such savage help. Then this military expedition brought the Moslems great disasters and derived countless lives. If the European could have understood the religion of the Moslems who lived a peaceful life there, the tragedy would not happen. Environment problems, such as whale fishery, are another case short of communication. When Japanese, the largest group who do the whale fishing and prefer eating whales in the world, are fiercely opposed by the environmentalists and other people, we may have to think about the necessary of communication between these people. If we could take some better mechanism to deal with such problems, maybe the contradiction could be solved. We can build up some special area for those people who fish whales and protect the majority of sea areas to prevent the extinction of some whale species. Such mechanism must be constructed on the further communication. Therefore we need more communication with other people in the world.

Energy crisis, demoralization, environmental contamination, traffic jams, all these phenomena are interested topics for every person in the world because these phenomena are prevalent in almost every nations. So we can discuss these problems with each other and find some method to make it better. The more people participate in, the better ways could be figured out. For instance, energy crisis is serious in the present days, and it could be contributed to several reasons. If we take up some in-depth discussion with other people, this problem may be ameliorated at some extent. On one hand, we can invent new fuels to instead petroleum and easy to obtain with the collaboration with scientists all over the world. Such collaboration could collect most research sources and intellectual ideas to exert their power to the maximum. On the other hand, we can consult with every nation to build a project to harmonize the production and provision of the petroleum to keep the balance and cater to the market need. Correspondingly we can have all problems in this way which emphasize the further communication.

Now that we have realized the necessary and the method of the communication, why not to build up some global universities to engage the students and teachers in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems? It is an effective way to have people, not matter of any nations, religions, races or cultures, get together and discuss the problems they concern in a free ambience. At the same time, in this era of globalization, global university is a quite effective way to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among the worldwide. Firstly, we can take in students from every nations and regions, which is good for hearing various voice representing different cultures. Secondly, we can have the teachers providing courses about diversified subjects especially the ones concerning those social problems most. Thirdly, we must promise the students and teachers that they could study and discuss their interest any time, anywhere, and with any body. Accordingly, our global university would play a role as the brain center of the world so that the spark of genius will bring us a better life there.

In conclusion, it is true that the global university can not be built up as easily as we want. There lie some difficulties such as financial funds, selecting locations, management manners, and so on. Notwithstanding those troubles, we should still believe that the global university is helpful for us to resolve the social problems we have in common.
