This is an era of legend, a epoch of changing, but what invariably happens is that we cherish our belief and share some of the identical values and ideas in our society. Wedged in human's life and existing in unconsciousness, these value and idea are looming and sometimes appears like fragment. Notwithstanding, there are a myriad of people who are under the hallucination that from the way the people look, dress and act can reveals the ideas and values of the society. From my point of view, nothing could be further from the truth.

True, there are times when one's dress and appearance can represent the whole popular trend and values of mass for the reason that these behavior and outside apearance could manifest their attitude to some extent. Attitude and interests are the form of demonstration of the value and ideas, and the popular cultrue are sometimes the representation of the these value. Thus, looking back on the history we familiar with, the trend and appearance and the clothes never fail to symbol the contemperory societal value and ideas. Some of the prominent and preeminent designers like Calvin Klein or Tom Ford, they design their work are invariably in light with the invisible trend amid the society, and whenever their acute wisdom cater and tailor the need of the mass, their works will be enjoyed a tremendously popularity. While Jeans represent the relex life style of U.S, the sexy appearance of Marylin Moonre stand for the asthetic value of the common people. Consequently, what is true is that sometimes the dress and act could represent the value and idea of one society.

Nonetheless, with the globalization of the society, when all the adolescent and teenages all prefer to KFC, dress the same T-shirt with Lee Jeans, drink Cocacola, and see the "Titanic", hardly can we feel even a slightly about what differentiate ourselves. Thereby, a deluge of same products are fill with this society, from what can we tell the social idea and value from these identical look, dress and act? The answer is negative, and that is ipso facto in that when the earth are unified as a village, most of our outlook have reduced into a mere material indication far be inferior to the spiritual level. And whenever we observe one person's appearance, we would be commit a hasty generalization should we judge by these superficial behavior. As a result, there rouse another critical and crucial question: what kind of things are defining our value and idea or what aspect of our life can stand out on behave of our innate and intrinsic mental spirit and our great social Zeitgeist?

Certainly, there is not definate answer for this question and even seldom of us have ever think about it, neither from physical nor pshchological level. In may opinion, there lies more fact determine and represent our societal value and ideas, like the book we read, the direction of media or the regulations and laws we made. Except some best seller like "the Da Vinci Code" or "Harry Potter",a multitude of books are only sold in one place and enjoyed by solitary reader, these books reflect the orientation of the apeptide of the mass and sometimes unfold and unearth what the society are paucity with and boasted. What is more, chances are extremely good that the attitude of the mass media will reflect the view of one nation or country. The same news which is seemed to be normal in one place may arouse the public crusade in another society, such as the PVS patient Terri.

Despite that some of the appearance and behavior could be indicated the value of one society, there still lies more than our wildest dream. In addition, of what significance is our cherished values and ideas if they can be so simply uncoded by these superficial expression of the people instead of the profundity of our elegant and long appreciated human wisdom.
