下面是一个老外写的一段话(关于他和中国学生在英语角的):
I did a quiz with participants at some English COrner. I talked at length about famous French institutions, products and people - the high-speed train, Eiffel tower, General Bonaparte Napoleon - and all people(Chinese learners of English) had to say was "the French are the most romantic people in the world'  (meaning something totally different from what we English speakers mean when we use the term "romantic"!).

(1)The French are the most romantic people in the world 这句子哪里不合适?
(2)    what do English speakers mean when they use the term "romantic"?

Thanks!

因为形容词有expressive of or exciting sexual love or romance; "her amatory affairs"; "amorous glances"; "a romantic adventure"; "a romantic moonlight ride"的意思
所以我觉得老外认为地道用法为直接用名词:romanticistic
——个人推测
未来太远,明天太近
