【题目】"It is the artist, not the critic, who gives society something of lasting value."
【翻译】是艺术家而不是批评家，给了社会一些永久的价值。
【提纲】
Thesis: the artists contribute to the society something of last value, however, the critic provides approaches to evaluate and appreciate such values. In this sense, the importance of critic could not be neglect;
Para1: last value includes the happiness that the work of arts could bring us and the discovery of our insider spirit. Art has eternal values since the art could benefits us without fade with the time.
Para2 the artists are the ones who create the works of art, which bring us lasting value. Examples: Vinci “Mona Lisa “, Shakespeare, Mark Twain,很恶俗，知识面窄阿。  
Para3 the critic help us find the real value of the arts and tell us how to evaluate the works of art.
Para4 not all the comments form the critic are right, they may have prejudice and could be utilized by the political force.

ISSUE38
【题目】"In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."
【翻译】电视时代的读书已经不像以前那么重要了。人们通过看电视学到的和他们读书所能学到的一样多。
【提纲】
Thesis: though the television could bring us much convenience it could not replace the book to inform us knowledge and skill
Para1: the television provide myriad of convenience that once only the books could offer, such as entertainment, practical skills .to some extent, television is more effective that reading books.
Para2:the books have their own advantages that the television inherently cannot possess. For example, the literature such as poets could arouse us imagination and the manipulation of language by some masters could be appreciated in books,
Para3: in modern society, books and television are two main approach that we could obtain knowledge and information and skills form. They have different features therefore neither could be the only form of learning. We have to make good use of both of them

The study of history places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten.
【翻译】
历史研究过于关注个人。历史上最有意义的事件和潮流能够成为可能不是因为几个少数的名人而是一些身份早就被淡忘的人群。
【提纲】
thesis: whether the normal people or great individuals decide the history is a controversial topic, in my view, both of them are responsible for the development of human society.
Para1: since there are far more records for the historical figures, so study the famous people could be much easier and hence they are concentrated by the study of history. And more important is that they actually contribute to the human history, no matter beneficial or detrimental
Para2 though the historical celebrates are significant in the process of human evolvement, the contribution of the mass could not be neglected. The practical works are done by ordinary people, without the support of the multitudes, the famous historical individuals could yet achieve any accomplishments. In addition, the entire trend of human society is determined by human nature, the historical figures could not change the trend, they could only accelerate or hinder the occurrence of some social changes. To study the normal people could help us better understand the historical trend, and the actual historical situations.
Para3 we should balance the study of history that we have to both emphasis on the individuals and the normal people as well.

【题目】"Government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people."
【翻译】政府应该保护公共所有的野生地区，使得它们维持自然的状态，即使这些地方十分地偏远因而大多数人无法到达。
【提纲】
Thesis: totally agree
Para1: the wilderness area could protect our environment, Amazon forest, wet area, anti-desert forest. Climate, species, wild animals.
Para2 the wildness area have potential economical benefits, traveling heat site, the nature resources.
Pare3 the wildness area benefit the scientific research.
Para4 despite that only a few people could access to those areas, those areas may destroyed by some inferior people who seek to make profits from such natural resources. Hence preserve is necessary.

ISSUE41
【题目】"Such non-mainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits play a vital role in society by satisfying human needs that are not addressed by mainstream science."
【翻译】研究界的一些非主流领域，比如星象学、占卜术和意念及超自然探索，在社会中起到了很重要的作用，因为它们满足了人们无法从主流科学获得的需求。
【提纲】
Thesis: Though nonmainstream areas of inquiry address the psychological needs of some people, they may be harmful is people deem such inquiries as truth and strongly believed in them.
Para1: the nonmainstream area of inquire could provide us some comforts that  other forms of inquires cannot, such as the confusion about the future and the life. Appease us from great depression.
Para2 those areas of inquire have some certain detrimental functions that could harm the participants. Do not believe in science, do not diligence and struggle in life, cannot accept the ideas of the mainstream society and isolate themselves form others or even commit antisocial behavior. Some group could inflict more harmful actions to others or society.
Para3 it is better not to believe in those areas, if really involved in those things, do not take it too seriously, always keep an acceptable mind to different voices.

ISSUE50
【题目】In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university
level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach.
【翻译】为了改善大学的教学质量，所有的教员都应该被要求花一定时间到学术领域以外去参加和他们所教科目相关的工作。
【提纲】
Thesis: It is beneficial for academic faculty to spend time working in the world outside the university. Meanwhile, some more theoretic majors such as aesthetic and theoretical physics, there is no need for the professors to contact with the outside society and there is no proper place for them to stay.  
Para 1: the contact with outside could bring in new ideas and result in creatity
Para 2 the contact with outside could acquire the real need of the society hence lead the research more purposely.
Para 3 practice combined with theory could lead to the more effective teaching.
Para 4 not all the majors need to do so since some majors are not strong connected to actual practice such as industry. And the implement of the action have to under the precondition that the faculty have to pay more attention in the academic tasks and responsibilities such as teaching and research.

【题目】"The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people."
【翻译】人们的眼神、穿着和动作都揭示了他们的态度和兴趣。你可以透过观察一个社会中人们的外貌和举止来认识该社会的理念和价值观。
【提纲】
Thesis: the appearance and hehavior of the people could not accurately reveal the social ideas and values. To actually understand such inside features of the society, it is necessary to rely on other aspects of the society such as arts , history and customs.  
Para 1 : Admittedly, the appearance and behavior could reflect some distinctive features of the society.　During the Qing Dynasty of China, men have braids. Which reveals that the group in power greatly depress the right and freedom of masses.  
Para 2: With the globalization, many societies become increasing similar in appearance and behavior. Western courtesy, manners, politeness, suit and dresses.
Para 3; sometimes the appearance is deceptive and the actual mind could not conclude from appearance.

ISSUE4
【题目】No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study.
【翻译】在任何一个研究领域当中，除非有该领域之外的人引进他们的知识和经验，否则该领域就很难获得巨大的发展。
【提纲】
Thesis: the outsider could bring in knowledge and experience to the field of study, however, it is the expert in that field make their ideas realized. Moreover, many significant discoveries and inventions are generated by experts in that field.
1 it is vague to define whether one is a outsider or expert, in that every expert is outsiders at the beginning, and every outsiders have the chance to become an expert. I define the outsiders as totally ignorant about some field be know something about other fields. And hence sometimes accidentally produce some ideas that is a breakthrough of the uninformed region.  
2, new comers could provide new ideas and original perspectives to analyze the problems.
3 however, there is rare that the totally ignorant of some fields could contribute to the advancement. Either they have learned sth by themselves or they are helped by other people. In this sense, it is the combination of knowledge that lead to the significant development.
4 Many importance contributions are made by experts who have concentrated on that field for long rather that outsiders.

2 人不可貌相,外表,衣着并不能准确辨别一个人的内在

b有时,由于特殊条件的限制,根本无法从行为和外在上显示一个人的个性
3 仅仅从这些外在更是无法准确判断一个社会的思想和价值观仅从外在就可以显示出来是荒谬的
