Peanut butter, is a staple of childhood sandwiches, and nightmare for parents whose kids have nonallergies age. Now it might also be a cure for hunger something in Africa, an associate scientist at  Washinton University school of medicine in St. Louis. This research has used nutrious enriched paste made of peanut, powdered milk, oil, sugar, spated with vitamins and minerals  to combat starvation in thousands of children in Malawi, where there are three quarter of kids malnutrated and more than 10% die before age 4 or 5. The scientists at village unhealthy identify who need help. Of 2000 severely malnutrated children were given peanut paste, 89% weret recovered, that’s far better than 50% recovery rate of starving kids treated with portrage made corn and meal, probably because peanut butter is potted with protein and calories. A hungry child eat 25 spoon of portrage equal to calories just one glutter of peanut paste. Best of all, the peanut butter produce locally, does not require cooking, and could be ministered by doctor Mom.

For decades, scientists known that animals on the severely restricted diet live longer than their gluttonous cousins. If you cut the number of calorie you consume by a third, you can add about 20% to your life spend. At less you are wet and wore more flat. It sounds easy but there is a catch. well a bunch of actually. For starters cutting them many calories without becoming malnourish is treated few of us would be able to pull off. And that is not enough. Scientists of Virginia commonwealth university in richman, have discovered that food fly the restricted diet do live longer but unfortunately they continue to add their age. As far as to grow older, they lose their memories as well as their ability to walk and to smell things. And eating less banana mash doesn’t make their life any sweater. In the Virginia’s researchers hands, the calorie challenge longer the flys continue to show age related decline in their ability to climb walls and to avoid bad smells. Results appears in Oct issue of journal aging cell. Just something to keep in mind, before you decide to pass on the apple pie to mouth. And pretty much everything she might thinking today.

这个好难。。。。

I know apple pie a la mode is bad for my health (too many calories), but I love it. I always put too much ice cream on the pie.

If you go to an American restaurant, you might find it on their dessert menu.

But if you have not encountered it in real life, perhaps you will see it mentioned in some articles.

Apple Pie a la Mode – In the United States, pie a la mode refers to pie  (usually apple pie) served with a scoop of ice cream (usually vanilla) on top.

1890s - According to the historians of the Cambridge Hotel in Washington County New York, Professor Charles Watson Townsend, dined regularly at the Cambridge Hotel during the mid 1890's. He often ordered ice cream with his apple pie. Mrs. Berry Hall, a diner seated next to him, asked what it was called. He said it didn’t have a name, and she promptly dubbed it Pie a la mode. Townsend liked the name so much he asked for it each day by that name. When Townsend visited the famous Delmonico Restaurant in New York City, he asked for pie a la mode. When the waiter proclaimed he never heard of it, Townsend chastised him and the manager, and was quoted as saying; "Do you mean to tell me that so famous an eating place as Delmonico's has never heard of Pie a la Mode, when the Hotel Cambridge, up in the village of Cambridge, NY serves it every day? Call the manager at once, I demand as good serve here as I get in Cambridge."  The following day it became a regular at Delmonico and a resulting story in the New York Sun (a reporter was listening to the whole conversation) made it a country favorite with the publicity that ensued.

A few years ago, scientists discovered a 3-foot skeletons among early human species on (the) Indonesian island. They named the creature a "hobbit." But that find left scientists with two major questions: these short 18,000-year-old bones represent an entirely new human species or it's just someone with growth disorder. Now the wrist bones may provide the answer. Researchers from the Smithsonian Institution published an article in the latest issue of Science. They showed that the hobbit's wrists are significantly different from both early humans and from Neanderthals. In fact, the wrists are close to those of African apes. Wrist bones take shape in early pregnancy xxx change much. They are also particularly distinctive between species. Scientists believe these shorts the early species in the human-like migrate from Africa to Asia. They evolved into a new species on the Indonesian island. If modern humans and Neanderthals have a common ancestor, the modern humans and hobbits have a common, well, great-ancestor, making apes and hobbits kind of second cousins.

It's been a fun baseball season, but the storm club of steroids has hung over the game for years now, especially tarnished Barry Bonds' xxx on the old time home run record. Tufts University physicist Roger Tobin is a big baseball fan and recently did a calculation to evaluate just how much impact steroids could actually have on power hitting. When he crunched the numbers, he found the following: steroids might bring about 10% increase in muscle mass that xxx muscle could help batter swing 5% faster and xxx bat speed could cause the ball to jump xxx the bat 4% faster. Doesn't sound like much. However, if you view at 4% in the initial velocity model distribution of trajectory of bat and baseballs, you can increase homers by a xxx 50%. Tobin's research will appear in the American Journal of Physics. He notes that weight lifting in small xxx of ballparks also play a role in pumping up the numbers of home runs. But the power searches of 1990 go inside with steroids more than the other factors.
