In the lecture, the professor talks about the importance of having a visual-spatial intelligence. Furthermore, he uses an example to illustrate his point. What he says relates what is presented in the reading.

First, the professor introduces the chess player and he indicates that for a chess player, to predict the move is very important. And in the reading, it is said that visual-spatial intelligence is a valuable asset for a chess player.

Second, the professor uses an example to illustrate his point. In this example, a blindfolded chess player plays with ten opponents at the same time. To win the games, he has to remember the positions of the chess pieces just because he cannot see the board, to remember many things beyond simple moves, such as ideas, plans, and to reconstruct a chessboard just having seen for a few seconds. From this example, we can see that what the blindfolded chess player should do is coincident with what is presented in the reading. In the reading, it tells us that for a chess player, he can use visual memory to remember chess board, and visual-spatial is abstract that means not only just simple moves, but other relevant things. Moreover, the reading tells us that they can draw whatever object they see and this ability can be used to reconstruct chess board.
