Working for a large company has its advantages; at the same time, working for a small company has also its benefits. If this issue is discussed in the following two perspectives, I think, a small company is a better choice.

Firstly, in general, small companies develop faster than large companies. The reason why a small firm enters a market is often that it is bullish on the market potential of a field. These fields are often some emerging markets or the markets with great developing potentials. Thus, such a small company could grow up rapidly. In contrast, hardly could a large company develop so quickly as a small company due to its massive scale. For example, plenty of small Internet businesses have attained rapid growth thanks to their forward-looking visions in a market. In a short span of time, the scale of many of them have enlarged several times as before, and even some of them have become listed companies from an original business with only several staffs. The speedy growth of small firms could scarcely be caught up with by a large company. As a result, a prosperous small firm could provide its employees with more opportunities of promotion and higher salaries than a large firm. No doubt that employees could benefit more from a small firm.

Secondly, if a person aspires to open his or her own business, he or she would learn more practical and all-round knowledge in a small firm than in a large firm. In a small firm, people would have chances to learn the comprehensive operating mechanisms of all departments such as marketing, personnel, account department and so on. Moreover, in the process of a company running its business, people could study its experiences of success when it gains achievements and learn its lessons when it meets with failures. However, in a large firm, people, just like a part in a huge machine, could merely understand the above-mentioned aspects superficially. So working in a small company would bring a lot of benefits for people, especially for those who want to make a better preparation in order to start their own undertaking in future.

Although working for a large company has its profits, working for a small company has also its good points. From the above two perspectives, I think, it is better to work for a small company than for a large one.
