Philosophy told us that we have different need in different layers, so it is quiet common that people need to do different things in their daily life. However, hardly can we see any people who do well in almost all things he engaged in. Nevertheless, it is a rational phenomenon we can easily deduce from some general principles.

First, trivial things counts for a large amount in all that we are engaged in, and they have consumed our time and energy considerably. We play different roles in the society, and that require us to do different things. Take a normal worker as an example, as a wife to a husband, she has to prepare a meal for her spouse everyday; as a friend to her intimate fellows, she has to attend their boring party time after time. Most important, as a worker, she has to finish her task everyday. So you can see how these endless trivialities distract her efforts. Most likely, the result may be like this, she is tired of handling these trivial things, let out doing well in all of them.

Second, nearly no talent exists in the world who can do well in all things he engaged in. In order to do well in all things, a person need to have a considerable knowledge in all fields, and that is not enough., in order to do it well, he needs to pay full attention to do it. I, as an undergraduate, for instance, have a full understanding of it. I used to have a great interest in drawing, so I took an art course and spent lots of my time on it. But eventually, I abandoned it. The simple reason is that I am not suitable for it and I can’t focus my time on it. On the other hand, everyday I take lots of courses on different subjects; however, I can hardly say I do well in all these subjects, just like most people do.

Most social elites have recognized the fact clearly, that though rational, people are engaged in different things, but mostly, they do well in only a few. That's why we have different majors in the university and we have so many chains in the product line.

怎么说，你给我的感觉就是在反复说因为同时做很多事容易把所有事都做不好，所以同时做很多事会容易把所有事都做不好，感觉你已经变成用结论来证明结论了，这样是很危险的。
