我申请的是PhD。收到计算机系发来的邮件，题目是UT Dallas Admission，邮件内容啥也没有就是个白条。但是有个附件，说：
Congratulations on your acceptance to。。。。。
但是里面还说：
If you are seeking financial support as a research assistant, you might want to contact individual faculty directly. The department will award teaching assistantships in the next couple of months.
There are also a number of $1000 scholarships for outstanding students.
This merit-based $1000 scholarship allows out-of-state students to be able to pay in-state tuition. There is no need for you to apply for teaching assistantship or $1000 scholarship, as all the admitted students will be considered.
就是说系里没钱，只能先给1000块钱，要RA还需要自己联系教授。

我的同学也收到AD了，刚刚联系了系里的教授，教授明确回复说UT dallas没钱了。很难找到RA的机会。也很难有其他的financial aid。
这位教授我的同学以前就认识，见过面，吃过饭，对我们说的应该就是实话。

至少是半奖！In state tuition应该低于4000刀，然后再加生活费...cong!
