It sounds paradoxical, but in wealth counties there is noting like recession to boost the population ‘s health. It all lets(adds) up to fewer death for things like lung cancer, liver disease, heart attacks and car crashes. The researchers say the few hours in offices can also mean more time with family and friends. These close social interactions will do(lead to) less stress and better health. Of course some people may find more family time to be like a lot of good medicine. Heart(hard to) swallow.

Music is known to make us happy or calm or sad, but to(do) other animal response to (dulcet) tunes(tones) as well. Instead it(in studies), our primate cousins perform silence to our music. But maybe we were playing the wrong tune, psychologist Charles snowdne and musician David Tai teamed up to show the (southern) American Monkeys， called Cap Tap Tamarins, do respond to music: They won’t(their own). The study was published on the journal Biology Letters. (actual) monkey calls in minds. Tai composed monkey music. That (tunes was) based on call signifying (anxiety). This one represent a happy safe condition. (Snothen) played competition(composition) to the (Tamarins), they became agetated(agitated) to hear the thred(threat) songs, and more a bitter (upbeat) music put them into amelonmood(a mellow mood). Much of what we communicated does depend on tone, not just words. The study suggests that what is S called music elements of speech has deep evolutionary history. Just goes to show that music can (sooth) a savage breast as long as the (species appropriate)

When crested pigeons spot a predator, they give a little whistle. But the sound doesn’t come from their beaks. And according to the study published by the Royal sociality, that whistle warns the rest of the flock to flee. They are safety in numbers, and flock offers protection in part because there are so many eyes watching for danger. But it’s not clear how an individual sounds the alarm when it spots predator. Maybe anytime when one or two birds fly off, they all do. Just in case. Off course that kind of knee-jerk reaction could produce a lot of false alarms. So how can birds tell when their flock mates are seriously headed for the hills. Scientists record the sounds made by the wings of crest pigeons during the routine lift off. And the noise they made during the emergency take off. And they found the sound made by wings flapping in terror includes a distinctive sort of whistle. That noise alone will scatter a flock of feeding pigeons as quick as the shadow of a passing hawk, and gives a whole new means to the expression “on a wing and a prayer”.

Something is hard to remember, other thing is hard to forget, especially things that are tromatic(traumatic). But kids turn out better than the adult in forgetting the bad stuff. Now scientist seems to (thinks they) know why. According to an animal study in the Sept.4th of journal Science, the brain of adults erect physical barrier that keep painful memory attack.(intact). AS adults, invents(events that) emotionally disturbed us tend to get seed(sealed) into our brain. Those memories can (resurface), cause anxiety, fear, and even (post-traumatic) stress disorder. But young brains are much more (resilient)-can even erase some (unpleasant) memories. To get a better handle on this helpful forgetting, scientists studied the brains of young and old rats. They found in adult’s brain, a physical net forms on(around) certain cells in (amygdala), a structure associated to (with)the emotional memories. Adult that had been trained to associate (a mild foot shock)with specific sound would (flinch) when they just heard the sound. But using a drug to disorder(dissolve) the barrier, we store(restore) the old rats ability to extinguish fearful memories. So rats that got the bust(net-busting) treatment stay in calm when they heard the sound. It’s one of the few instances where net-lose(loss) is the real game(gain).

The earthquake shacked Indonesia island of Java cause landslide in a village of Chick~ burying 13 homes and people who were inside. Arita, a retired teacher, lost most of his family. Ed Jusef, the wise(vice) governor of (west)Java is coorderlating(coordinating) rescue efforts. “Now my(our main) concern is to rescue as much as people that we can get, and after that we can manustruct (manage for)the construction ” In addition to score of the capsurity（casualties） and hundreds of  wounded, the earthquake damaged thousands houses of schools and buildings in the country. The earthquake which occurred just of the sudden cost(,just off the southern Java coast,) short(shook) tall building in the city of Jakarta, 190 kilometers to the north, but cause little damage. RR towns and village to the south were head(hit) hardest. In the town TM 115 KM from the up center(epicenter) of the quake, 500 houses were destroyed, leaving about 2000 homeless. In the village of SA which has population of 30000, 1 died and 198 houses were damaged. While Indonesia is performing(prone to) the frequent(seism) activity, SN official firmanEdi says, for the small village, at earthquake of the magnitude is rare occurrence.. he says this is big for them, and never happen in 20 years. (Tents) have been (erected) in effected areas for the 5000 people who need temporary houses. Assistance including water food and medicine is been getting (begining) to arrive.

UN and agency says this year’s flooding cross West Africa may not (match the severity) of the floods that occurred in 2007.Those killed 300people and displaced 800,000. This years toll has not reached that level, but (torrential) rain has not stopped. They are expected to continue for several weeks, enough time to add to the already extensive damage that has occurred. UN humanist torrent(humanitarian) spokeswoman Elizabel Spearl says (Burkina) Faso has been the hardest (hit). She said at least 5 people have been killed and 110,000 forced to flee their homes, mainly in the capital VD. “the rain in Burkina Faso during one year represent 1000 (?1200) mm, in one day in V the rain represented 300 millimeters for one day.” That means one corner(quarter) of Burkina Faso’s (annual rainfall) happened in just one day. Bill says this is extremely worrying this(as) more rain and more flooding in short(sure to) recur. He says this country has not (yet) recovered from the economic loss suffered in 2007. “yet now” she said, “people once again (are faced )with extensive crop losses and loss of cattle from drowning ” She said infor structure(infrastructure) has been badly damaged. Electricity in capital has been cut off. Roads and bridges have been rushed away. “and all those public buildings in particular the main (hospital) in V have been flooded and patients have been evacuated in these days. You (have) floods in the C. 70 children in where(who were in hospital) have been evacuated. It’s another (strain on the economic )life of this country.” Concern is rising about outbreak of the waterborne diseases, (Diarrhea) is already on the rise. Bill says Ghana also has been hit hard by what she calls the (deluge). She says 25 people died from the bad weather and from the floods. She adds the death toll is likely to increase in the coming days.

Can you hear the end of the daytime insect? That is (cicada), right. But I’m hearing (crickets) in background too. Just listen for a second. Listen to how many different sounds you can hear. That’s Alison Bill of the (Mushland) conservancy, (a wildlife sanctuary in Rye) New York. She led a (twilight) walk through the preserve at Sept. 5th. There is a wonderful event that’s about (to) take place at Sept. 11th. There is going to be a cricket (crawl) where people are going to go out and listen for the sounds of seven crickets, and (katydids), angle-winged katydids, and (coneheads), and various other night insects(that) are singing. And you can go to a website, and you can go out to your own backyard, and listen for the sounds and actually be part of this scientific count. So, all of these sounds are on the internet, you can listen, you can see the insects close up. And you can hear the sounds, and you can send new data from your own backyard. This website is www.discoverylife.org/cricket , or just google cricket crawl. The official count is taking place in New York city Mushpollen area, but anyone can get new (appreciation) for the tiny wild life producing natural’s (nocturne). OK, we are just about to the end of this walk, I’ll tell you something, It has not anything to do with this walk, this called (crepuscular) walk. It was just a trick. It’s a trick to get you to go outside in your own habitat. And listen to the same things that have been in your backyard or in your neighborhood all along and you just (haven’t) paid any attention to them. So here is another commend, you go out and you get a (flashlight) at 8 clock. Go out and follow the sounds that (you’ve) heard here tonight. You’ll realize how many different species of crickets and katydids and (grasshoppers) there are. Your job is to find them.
