【正文】
When it comes to significant historical events, we are most likely to tell the famous few of each event. It is true that historians prefer to study history through special figures; however, it is just a studying method rather than ignoring the effect of the mass. As my point of view, I quite agree with the statement in the issue that it is the groups of people that play an even more vital role in history.

Admittedly, we can never ignore the effect made by few people in history for its trend and big events. Consider Lincoln for a striking example. For his great wish of unification for the north and south as well as the hope for abolishing slavery, he had made his best effort in the Civil War, which brought a rather different America. A reversed example is Hitler, who cause the happen of the Second World War and created such a huge disaster of the whole world. If it were not for a special figure as him, the common people hardly had this ambition and strength to cause a war.

However, it is groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten that have more effect on history especially on the most significant events and trends. Almost every college student acknowledges Martin Luther King and his “I have a dream”. He is well known as his fight for the freedom, equality, and dignity of all races and peoples through nonviolence. But could he himself achieve so big success without the corporate effort of mass of common people who possessed the same dream as him? Albeit he was the leader of fighting for civil rights for black people, but the most important effect should be attribute to the masses, the ones having long been forgotten. Another telling example is war against Japan in China. Thousands of people until now admire Mr Mao, the first president of the New China, very much and own him great appreciation, nevertheless, it is agree on by everyone that common people prove to be the real winner of the revolution.

Besides, individuals are indeed a good method when making study of history. For one thing, centre figures are easier to be remembered than common people, who have typical characteristic and acts in that era; for another, famous few, setting up examples for students, may achieve positive influence on them, and thus make the study of history significative.

In sum, the study of history places more emphasis on individuals for the benefit of utilizing famous figures. Whereas, it is both individuals and the mass give the power for history advancing, and between which I strongly consider the latter is more important and main power while the former may appear to be the leader.

通观全篇文章，觉得你写的应该是平衡观点，在第二段对个人作用进行了肯定后，紧接着第三段反驳并强调了unknown people的作用，然后第四段又肯定了个人对学习历史的榜样作用，但是你发现没有，你第三段对unknown people作用的强调之前花了很大篇幅写Matin Luther King 的个人成就怎么怎么样，给人感觉又点牵强尽管你一再强调无名人士的more vital role 在你的开头和结尾，其实你是片面赞成作者观点的，但是又带有平衡观点的色彩，诶，这道题其实怎么写都可以，不是吗？总的说来我觉得你这篇文章写的还是很好的，很有条理，不好意思，一下说了这么多！
