花了近两个小时:(
Basically, children and adults are different in their ages--- the years from the days when they born, respectively. As far as I know, most of the countries in the world almost consider the birthday of 18 as the beginning of the stage of adults. Furthermore, with each passing year, one person can be easily distinguished between adults and children by several essential differences. Among these various factors that differ adults from children are whether he/she is mature enough, whether they are independent, and whether he/she can think critically.

Adults are characteristic of the maturity, no matter whatever they do, whenever they make, or wherever they are. They can think carefully before they do, while children just follow their parents. As for children, they are always told to do something by their father or mother, even when big things were being decided. For instance, when choosing to attend college or university, most children who have just graduated from high school made the decision involuntarily, merely because they were asked to do so. In another word, it is their parents who have made such decision instead of by themselves. Adults who might have been worked for several years, however, choose the university by themselves, because they know exactly what they need, and they know what they are right doing.

Another difference between adults and children is whether they are independent. We know that an independent adult always live by themselves, while children under the age of 18 still live with their parents. We also know that adults earn their living by their jobs, and salaries, so they can buy “nick” T-shirt, shores or something others using their own money without asking their parents for money; while as for children, they are still depending on their parents for daily expenditure, which means that if one child want to eat icecream, firstly, he/she has to request their parents for it because they are not independent yet.

In addition to the mature and the independent, whether a person can think critically is the most important difference between adults and children. With the ability of critical thinking, human can become essentially mature and independent. Actually, when children grow up, they could gradually think maturely, independently and critically, and with the process of enhancing the ability of thinking year by year, children ultimately become adults.

文章写得不错,只是感觉该题目应该写的是events 而不是differences,所以感觉有点离题了。
以上是我的个人看法,如有不当之处尽管指正
