When it comes to this issue,  people differ in their attitudes towards friends choosing. Some people may think it is better to have friends different from themselves. Others, however, may argues that similar friends is more favorable. As far as I am concerned, I prefer to make friends who are diverse from me.

A persuasive point is that people ,compared with friends similar to themselves, can learn more from those different from themselves. As we know, friends who are dissimilar to people themselves always have various fondnesses and merits,from which people can spread their eyeshots and attain varied knowledges. For example, one of my friends extrmely enjoys detective novels,about which I do not know much,  and in leisure time, he often tells me a vast amount of interesting stories. In consequence, I acquaint myself with many new gests, so that I can usually tell them to my sister.

Furthermore, when people are confronted with obstacles, suggestions can be provided in distinct ways by friends who are different from them.. It is known to us all that disparate kinds of people think in unlike ways, as a result, sometimes different advice and solutions can contribute to resolve the problems people encounter. As a case in point, once I came across a difficulty in establishing a model in a progame of statistics, and I , because my major was Statistics, confined myself to use statistical methods unconsciously, which resulted in that the problem seemed enormously hard for to solve. However, one of my friends whose major was Differential Equation advised me to use a mesure in his domain, and then ,of course, the problem was resolved.

Another merit to have this kind of friends is that people can enhance their interpersonal skills.In other words, when people are faced with different sorts of friends, they should know how to use approriate methods to communicate with them, which , therefore, will improve their interpersonal skills.

Admittedly, to make friends similar to people has its own advantages as well. For instance , semblable people have much in common with the hobbies and characterictics Hence, they can share their commom interests and get along with each other very well. Besides, with similar friends, people is more probable to fight together when they meet the same embarrassment.

In conclusion, though friends similar to people can help people in some cases, as an old saying goes:  one swallow does not make a summer, the merits of making friends different from people outweigh the advantages of having friends similar to people. From what has been mentioned above, I am firmly convinced that differences can make progress and therefore I am prone to choose friends different from me.
