How do movies or television influence people's behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer

When it comes to the question that how movies or television influence people's behavior, I would like to introduce its impact on people's ordinary deeds from three aspects as follows.

Primarily, movies and television have significant influence on people in term of teaching them how to deal with their life. In other words, people get used to absorb the method or knowledge of living a meaningful life. An example could serve to illustrate my point. A film, which I watched in my childhood, is about a story how a little boy who was born to be a slave grew up to a famous artist. He overcame a large amount of hardship and difficulties, whereas he still held the belief he will reach his success in the realm of music. This film is impressive to me and every time I feel frustrated and want to give up, I will turn to it and gain some courage. Also, I learn from the movie that only by unremitting efforts can a person arrive at the final destination where he or she dreams of.

Also, television and movies exist as an eye opening for us. With the development of information age and global village, we have the channel to know about everything in various areas, even though it doesn't happen around us. When I was in a dilemma to make a decision where to pursue my graduate study between an Australian university and an A England institution last year, I hesitated for a real long time because I have never been either of them and I cannot judge which one is more suitable for me just by some reading materials. The television is of great useful to help me get in touch with two of them. A television program offers me thorough information of videotapes, photos and interview of university president and students. Ultimately, I decide to the one whose campus landscapes are more enjoyable and whose students are more energetic.

Admittedly, beside the positive effects mentioned above, the adverse effects of movies and television should not be neglected. As we all know, the movies and television are abused of convey too much concept of violence, sex, crime, and the like to children and teenager, which leads to the rise of teenager crime rate. Especially in movies, the director or screenwriter makes the violence glamorous and magnificent.

To sum up, movies or television provide us more information nowadays. Some result in some negative effects while some affects people in a positive and effective way.
