Issue 197 “The material progress and well-being of one country are necessarily connected to the material progress and well-being of all other countries.”

Concerning this topic, I insist that with the globalization and integration nowadays, one country is obviously link with other countries in economics, environment, and technology and so on.  Thus the material progress and well-being of one country are necessarily connected to all other countries.

In the first place, in the nowadays’ development of our society, the globalization of economy is the very interpretation of world economy.  Many businesses are traded out of one nation, and international cooperation becomes the mainstream.  With the cooperation with other countries, one country can develop its relative superiority and thus can reduce the economic resources all over the world.  Furthermore, through the trade, one country can make more profits by absorb other countries’ relative superiority.  So one country’s economic progress interconnects with all other countries’.

In the second place, concerning the environmental problems, we can see that the environment links the world together.  For example, Greenhouse affects, Depletion ozone, sandstorm, etc.  It is evident that with the development of technology, industrial progress has carried out the deleterious destroy to the global environment.  Recent years, people increase the number of cars, air-conditions, and other equipments which cause the depletion of atmospheric ozone more serious.  It has warmed the earth to the point that it threatens the very survival of human beings.  Other environmental problem is the sandstorm which is never seen when I was a child and is so common recent years.  The deforestation for buildings lives or others cause the more frequent sandstorm and it more and more endangers the life of people.  The entire environmental are connected with all the countries in the world and should be cared by all countries.  The well-being is interconnected between countries.

Finally, besides the two aspects above, countries on the earth are links at many other things.  One can say that there are developed and developing countries whose economic conditions are vast different.  It is true that different countries have different situations.  But the progress are connect that one country’s Improvement would cause other countries’ emulating.  If a country is preeminent in its material progress, the motive of benign competition will arise in other countries’ minds.  Incentive of competition is informative in the progress of enhancing individual’s ability in society.  And such a regulation works equally well when applied to the competition among countries.  By competition with the leading one, countries come to aware of their backdrops and will try their best to emulate the superior countries thus improve their owe abilities.  For example, by emulating the USA, Japan get developed after the destructive catastrophe of the World War 2.  The development is the effect of progress’s incentive of other country.

In sum, after the discussion above, we can at least draw a conclusion: material progress and well-being are interconnect between countries.
