Since the beginning of human society, there are always controversies about the issues of education, which is the way to prepare next generation for continuous making the progress of the society forward. To the issue who are responsible carriers of education, I vote for the view of the author. Education, paramountly important for the further function of the society, must be left to parents and communities, as well as professional educators. The missing of any of the three will damage the potential possibility to build a sound education, and thus is eventually detrimental for our society.

To begin with, if there is anyone who could claim to be the most responsible for the child's education, it is, inevitably, the parent. Being the first teachers and the authoritative supervisors, parents are doomed to be most influential on the child's growth both physically and psychologically: from the decisions that parents make for the clothing and food the child take, to the choices for the schools to enroll; from the dos and don’ts the parents put on the child, to the behaviors that the child unconsciously imitate. In the day-to-day events, parents gradually infuse their ideology and moral to the child, both consciously and subconsciously. In this sense, it is not likely that a polite and goodhearted child with good manners is growing out of the family in which both parents are rude, self-concerned and floppy in etiquette. Given the important role in the growth of the child, parents are never said too much to have the duty to ensure a suitable and sound education for the child.

To argue that it is parents who should assume the task to give the child the proper education in the family, when it comes to a larger environment, namely community, in which the child develop himself outside the boundaries of the family, it is obvious there are some obligations for this institution to burden.  Therefore, an atmosphere of eager for self-improvement, for exploring unknown area of knowledge and skills and for higher moral and better value should be created at the effort of the whole community, as well as the insalubrious and indecent ambitions and lust should be deprived. Furthermore, supports are needed from the community, financially and spiritly, to propel the institutions and organizations of education to progress smoothly.

Arguments about the affirmative roles of parents and communities in the education, however, will usher in debates from opponents. By asserting that parents and communities, rather than the stimulative roles they are expected to play, will intervene and interfere the authorities of professional educators on the education. The cosset from parents and bias views from the community, they will argue, are the cases in point. As a matter of fact, these negative opinions about the role of parents and communities, instead of undermining the validity of the previous statement,  call for a new solution to address the conflict, if there are, between the three of elements responsible for education: the cooperation. In this relationship, parents are to give out the moral lessons for their superior advantage knowing the child insightfully, professional educators are to equip the child with scientific knowledge, practical skills and critical thinking and the community is to provide the child the fine environment to develop their moral infused from parents and the abilities invoked by professional educators.

In sum, the responsibilities for a sound and promising education should be distributed to parents, communities and professional educators balancedly. Any overemphasis or underestimate of any of the three will ruin the wholesome picture of the problem, from which it is our future that will be the lost ultimately.
