People grow from children to adults. Every(one) grown-up was once a kid, and every child is going to be an adult, as its age increases. In my point of view, however, it is not the age that distinguishes adults from children, but the independence, self-responsibility and awareness of caring for others (those are not experiences, events or ceremonies; those may be the differences between a child and an adult) that indicate one’s maturity.
In the first place, we must start to lead independent lives to cross the boundary between children and adults, that is, we ought to manage our lives on our own instead of relying on our parents for everything. When I was in university during recent years, I was required to arrange all by myself every aspect of my life, for instance, cooking, laundry, and schedule of the courses, which were planed and done by my parents and teachers. Having gone through the hard time at the beginning, I feel myself an adult now for I am able to handle all these with ease now.
In addition, to become real adults, we must be responsible for every deed, good or bad, that we do. Kids are allowed to turn to their parents for help or protection when they have done something wrong. But as grown-ups, we need to answer for whatever consequence of our behavior because no one would pay the bill for us when we are considered self-responsible human beings. Therefore, we have to think twice before we do anything and say any words of whether we are capable of undertake the results of our words and deeds.
Finally, the most significant symbol of being adults is knowing how to take care of other people, especially of our own children. Only after becoming parents ourselves can we truly understand the meaning of responsibility and being mature individual. By attending our kids, preparing everything for their lives, we will realize how difficult our parents had been when we were children. Also, we will give more filial respect to our parents and maintain a happy family by all our efforts.
It is true that everyone will grow physically as time goes by, but the most important qualities of an adult involves (it shows me that you are trying to answer the question "what are an adult's qualities' ? with one’s mind. Independence, self-responsibility and awareness of caring for others are what differentiate adults from children. And we all are to do our best to attain these qualifications.
you are required to respond the question "what events (experiences or ceremonies) make a person an adult?
