issue51[加洲阳光]第一次作业请拍砖

Issue51 "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student." 教育类 频率151
教育只有被专门设计来满足每一个学生个人需求和兴趣的时候才是真正有效率的。


提纲:(保留的支持)
1、教育的主体是学生,只有学生真正提高了自身修养,培养了个人兴趣,教育才达到目的。
2、要因材施教。
3、不可能满足每个学生的要求。

I agree with the speaker’s broad assertion that education should be designed to meet the needs and interests of students. However, the speaker unnecessarily concretizes the broad assertion to each student. My point of contention with the speaker involved the fundamental objectives and nature of education, as discuss below.
I concede that the speaker is on the correct philosophized side of this issue. After all, the subject of education is students. There is a question that what is the main purpose of education today? Maybe someone argue that the one needs to have a good education background in order to be successful in one’s career. But in my opinion, only when one improves his or her own self-cultivation and foster individual interest through education, education attains its goal. When needs can not be satisfied, the development will stop. As to education, when students’ needs and interests can not be satisfied by education, they might turn to the contrary way.
The second argument has to do with the measure of education. The Confucius said, “Education must follow the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude.” , which means directed against different interests and needs of different students, the measure of teaching should be various. Besides, in the colorful society today, the current of education also should be various.
While education must meet the needs and interest of student at the same time, we should clearly recognize that education as a project which aim at the multitude can not satisfy each student’s need. Although today’s techniques are well developed, the exploitations of these programs are directed against the majority people. It is difficult to cater for all tastes, just as education. We cannot find a cook whose cooked food made everyone like it; we also cannot find a way of education which made every student enjoy it very much. The only thing we can do is to do our best to fulfill the needs, yet we cannot promise everyone content with it.
In sum, the speaker’s assertion that education should be specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of “each student” leads to the question, because we are not able to design such a education program that satisfied every students. Especially, a few students have unreasonable needs and low taste interests which should not be fulfilled. As for the speaker’s broader assertion, I agree that education design to cater to the needs and interest of students is a sound decision ---because the importance of education cannot be overvalued. It will foster considerable people of great ability for our nation. So how to design the way of education is a question worth to discuss. In the final analysis, the education’s muzzle should aim to the majority students’ needs and interests as much as possible.

I concede (concede带有让步语气的承认,一般用在让步的地方) that the speaker is on the correct philosophized side of this issue. After all, the subject (主题 or 主体?) of education is students. There is a question that what is the main purpose of education today? Maybe someone (Some people might argue that...似乎书面语一些 )argue that the (去掉这个the) one needs to have a good education background in order to be successful in one’s (his/her) career. But in my opinion, only when one improves his or her own self-cultivation and foster individual interest through education, education attains its goal. When needs can not be satisfied, the development will stop. As to education, when students’ needs and interests can not be satisfied by education, they might turn to the contrary way (如果学生的兴趣和需要不能得到满足会产生什么样的后果,我感觉需要说得更清楚一点,才convincing).

(不能满足每个学生的兴趣和需求其实有很多可说的,比如“教育资源(faculty number, labs, schooling spaces, other educational facilities);学生尤其是年龄还小的学生缺乏认识能力,产生兴趣随意而且多变,需求不合理,等等)

In sum, the speaker’s assertion that education should be specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of “each student” leads to the question, because we are not able to design such a education program that satisfied (could satisfy) every students. Especially, a few students have unreasonable needs and low taste interests which should not be fulfilled. As for the speaker’s broader assertion, I agree that education design to cater to the needs and interest of students is a sound decision ---because the importance of education cannot be overvalued. It will foster considerable people of great ability for our nation. So how to design the way of education is a question worth to discuss (discussing). In the final analysis, the education’s muzzle should aim to the majority students’ needs and interests as much as possible.
