Many people blame technology on leading the problems such as pollution, war and poverty, while they ignore the benefits they get from the technology to enjoy the convenient life nowadays. Although I admit that the problems never leave us even for one single minute, it is not technology but people themselves give the birth to these problems. On the other hand, technology solves more problems when people use it for the good goal in the proper way. Furthermore, the quality of life is greatly improved by the benefited caused by the technology.

To begin with, the technology solves many basic problems in people's existence. The benefits of technology are shown in every area in our daily lives, from clothing to transportation. The most important thing is that technology solves the problems in people's surviving. For example, the technology of medication helps extend the average life of the whole society and increase the infants' survival rate. It is a significant contribution of technology. In ancient time without technology, the life of individual is only depended of their living environment. They might be killed by an ailment at their early age and they struggled to protect their baby from dying with the wrong methods.

In addition, technology not only solves the actual basic needs in the existence of human, but also provides the space to cater the spiritual needs of human beings and lead the self-improvement of people. With the help of technology, many jobs are replaced by the machines and the effect of people's working is absolutely improved. There is more time left for people to do the things in which they are interested. They can long for their spiritual needs and get much more satisfaction. The people can enjoy playing piano rather than devote all of his time and energy to work for their survival. They can meet their higher need, such as love and self realization which are mentioned in Maslow's Need Levle Theory. What is more, people tend to get self-improvement in the society at the high technical level. They will learn more subjects, such as chemistry, physics and mathematics, to adjust themselves to the highly developed society. As a result, their minds are widened.

However, we can not ignore the side effect caused by the technology. As the coin has two sides, the technology will bring some damage when it leads benefits. For example, the industrial factories release the gas which can cause the green house effect into the atmosphere. The air was polluted by the harmful gas as well. Furthermore, the war in which people use many dangerous weapons causes much damage to the earth and people themselves.

To sum up, the disadvantages of technology weights less than its benefits. It not only solve the basic problems and cater the needs of people in their existence, but also leave the space for human beings to realize their spiritual need and lead the self-improvement. Of course, we should make good use of the technology for the good aims and consider its damage as well. Furthermore we should control the damages and solve the problems that are caused by the technology as soon as possible.
