What are some important qualities of a good supervisor (boss)? Use specific details and examples to explain why these qualities are important.

What qualities make a good supervisor? Different people have different answer about this. From my point of view, good leadership and being a good example are very important factors of a good supervisor.

To begin with, it is the leadership that most greatly determines whether one can be a good supervisor or not. As it is known to all, without the ability of leading others, no one can be a good supervisor. Simply put, a good supervisor should know how to allocate work to people according to their characters and specialties so that the work can be finished with high efficiency. Also the supervisor should be good at making the workers a real team, thus the faculties cooperate well with each other. Only obtaining fantastic leadership ability can a man be a good supervisor.

In addition, being a supervisor, especially a good one, depends heavily on whether the person can set a good example to his or her faculties. In no way are people willing to work for a person who is obviously lower in ability. To prove this we need look no further than Bill Gates, the former CEO of Microsoft, who is highly advanced in the computer software areas, made others to believe that it is such an honor to work for him. In fact, at least in Asia, almost all IT professionals would like to enter Microsoft Company and work for Bill, even being proud of being a worker of Microsoft Company. In this level we can see being a good example is of great help to be a good supervisor. Or maybe we should say, being a good example is not as necessary as obtaining ability of leadership to be a good supervisor, but being a good example do will greatly propel a supervisor to be a good one.

All in all, I cherish the viewpoint that a good supervisor should have ability of leadership--which is a necessary factor; in addition, if a supervisor has a good master of the professionals knowledge and is a typical example to his or her faculties, he or she is more easier to be a good one compared to those who not.

Well, I prefer to live by myself. Compared to live with others, I think the advantages of living by myself outweigh living with a roommates. To begin with, when living by myself, I have more freedom in making my schedule. I can decide when to get up, when to go to bed all by myself. For example, I don’t have to worry about whether my music would bother others anytime, even very late. In addition, living by myself allows me to have more privacy, such as what my diary says everyday. Last but not least, living by myself can avoid lots of unhappiness and conflicts with others due to different living habits and so on. For the reasons above, I prefer to live by myself. That’s all.
