What do you want most in a friend - someone who is intelligent, or someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your choice.

As a saying goes, "a friend in need is a friend indeed". So, for me, I think someone who is reliable is most important to me.

To begin with, a reliable friend means that he/she will never betray you. In nowadays, money becomes more and more important. It is very likely that someone would betray you just because of money. But a reliable friend will never do such things and will be in support of you. For instance, if one of your friend knows lots of your secrets, and if another want to know these secrets and give money to one of your friend in order to get some secrets about you. At this time, if a friend is reliable, he/she will never tell your secrets to someone else just due to the money. But if a friend is not reliable, then the consequence may quite different.

Moreover, a reliable friend would help you whenever you are in trouble. Everyone may be in trouble some day. At that time, what you need is just help that can take you out of the trouble. Humor or intelligent has nothing to do with you because they cannot help you out of the trouble. But a reliable friend would do anything she/he can to help you, such as lending you money, finding relevant information for you. He/she would not sit still and look at your tight. From the perspective of ourselves, if we are in trouble and at this time someone help you and just because he/she is your friend, what would you feel? I thing it may be warm, happy, gratitude. In a word, your feeling would be good.

In addition, a reliable friend will do everything he/she can to help you success. In other word, a reliable friend will not envy you success. For example, when you make a wrong decision, a reliable friend will tell you and help you correct, but other friend may look at you and see how you fail. In this sense, a reliable friend will help you pave a road to success.

In summary, a reliable friend will stand in your side whenever you are in trouble, and whoever you become. Having a reliable, you would be the happiest one.









Well, if I am in trouble, I would like to talk with someone who is kindhearted and know me well, because at this time, I fell very terrible just because of the trouble. I would tell her what I fell now and what the trouble is. Then she may tell me “don’t worry” or something like that and help me to get out of the trouble. And because she knows me well, she can think out a proper solution to help me solve the trouble.
