What do you want most in a friend — someone who is intelligent, or someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your choice.

I have many good friends, the most substantial common characteristic of whom is intelligence. I like intelligent friends because they have considerable merits for both me and our friendship. Although it might be superficial to attach great weigh to intelligence, I believe, considering the importance of it, intelligence should be lined in NO.1 position with a queue of characteristics of my friends.

No issue is more significant now than the one refer to "influence". An excellent friend can impact one person all his life. This is just like that a person live in a sealed room. If the room is filled with many balmy flowers, the person would have a good smell too; If the room is full of decayed fish, the person would smell terrible. The easy principle can be applied to the friendship of between people. Friends, whom are often together with you, can influence you through many methods. If your friends are all smart, you would be had an influence of them and turn to be intelligent too. Take me as an example. My friends all are wise, and thus I learn a lot of information from them. The view they analyses the news, the methods they think and the acknowledge they have are the model I can imitate.

Talking with intelligent friends would be more comfortable and easier. They have a lot of acknowledge and more sensitive than crass ones. You would find that you can discuss anything with them and they may know what you think before you tell them. Should you own those friends, the friendship can be maintained more easily. Imagine this situation that you have a fiend whose intelligence level has a distance with you, what you would feel when you talk with him? How long can you sustain this relationship?

For one person, intelligent people can educate him; for their friendship, to maintain friendship with intelligent people would be easy. In conclusion, intelligence is the most important characteristic for a wonderful friend.
