In the lecture, the professor says that same-age peer group may have competition according to the results of a famous experiment. And this point refutes what is said in the reading.

First, the professor talks that in the first stage of the experiment, boys are divided into two groups and are told not to compete. However, after a few days, they begin to compete. This point is totally different from what is said in the reading. In the reading, it is mentioned that peer groups build friendship, tolerance, and cooperation, not to say competition.

Second, in the second stage, just because of the serious contest, insults and negative attitudes begin to emerge. It means that competition brings something bad to boys. However, in the reading, it is said that competitive strategies are healthy and necessary, which mean competition can bring something good.

Third, at the end of the lecture, the professor mentions that competition comes more naturally than cooperation. That means competition outweigh cooperation. However, in the reading, competition is said to be equal with cooperation.

Well, I think student should not have a year break before they attend college. For one thing, as we all know, everyone can forget something. So after one year’s break, students may have forgotten what they have learned in high school, then it is not good for college studying. For another thing, even if students have not the one year’s break, they may have some other time to relax in college, because the course is not as tight as in high school and after a term, there will be a vocation.

Well, I think student should not have a year break before they attend college. For one thing, as we all know, everyone can forget something. So after one year’s break, students may have forgotten what they have learned in high school, (句意重叠...可以合并下,而且以来就出现so....貌似太快了吧~~) then it is not good for college studying. For another thing, even if students have not the one year’s break, they may have some other time to relax in college, because the course is not as tight as in high school and after a term, there will be a vocation (as well ). 后面一个观点很不错啊,呵呵
