As the speaker's connotation, most people thought it is only the individuality that they can benefits from but in fact conformity contributes to personal economic success rather than individuality. At the first glance of the statement, this opinion seems somewhat reasonable, however, further reflection tells me that it ignores many practical problems. As far as I am concerned, in order to achieve the personal economic success, the individuality and the conformity are both indispensable.

Whether the enterprisers should place emphasis on the individuality at the expense of dismissing the conformity or vice versa often depends on the issue of which one is more paramount. Such opinion is existence in my mind, in the resent circumstance individuality is crucial in the economic realm. For example, Wal-Mart's continual sales increasing rates and scale expansion are due to its unique management strategies. The previous CEO Sam Walton created the employee ownership, which enables every employee to purchase the company shares and help advance the company's emphasis on controlling costs and providing excellent customer service. Without the productive strategy, the company might have been squeezed out of the supermarket realm. Consequently, with out individuality, if all the retailers adopt the same strategies as the Wal-Mart, the behemoth of retailing can hardly be success readily. So the individuality is vital in the way of pursuing achievement.

However, conformity, frankly speaking, is also required for personal economic success. People are doomed to accomplish success with the help of conformity. For instance, to sprawl into the international market, some indispensable factors must be considered, such as certain political economic climates, stability of relative foreign currencies and the conditions of retailer markets. Thus that is the reason why merchants should conform to some regulations and rules of the retailer industry. All in all, conformity is also too crucial to achieve personal economic success.

What’s more, conformity means in certain economic realm the regulations and rules everyone should obey. Of course without the regulations, in order to pursue maximum profits every merchant is willing to manufacture the goods which are not good to use. For example, in the food industry the businessman may use pork instead of beef because pork is cheaper while he declare his meal is made of beef. So it is a necessity to have regulations and rules to constrain the merchants.

Simply put, without individuality all the men are equal, the merchants can hardly accomplish achievements; while at the mean time without conformity the enterprisers will be chaos which is the reason that hampers their growth. Thus in order to be a successful businessman, all the candidates should be unique and conformity and both of the two characters, seemed as the two sides of a coin, are indispensable.
