Some students like classes where teachers lecture (do all of the talking) in class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking. Which type of class do you prefer? Give specific reasons and details to support your choice.

As an old saying goes “one man’s meat is another’s poison.”  People hold different opinions toward the same object, not mention to the conversional issue. When it comes to the question which do you prefer to, the classes where teachers lecture or the one where the students do some of the talking, from personal perspective, I prefer to the classes where the students can have some of the talking.

To begin with, some of the talking the students can take part in has positive influence on the process of learning to students. For students, because they are in the procedure of teaching, it will be beneficial to enhance the efficiency of learning, such as improving their understanding of knowledge, strengthening memory of what they learned in the classes. For instance, in our physics class, our teacher first asked us to prepare the chapter before the class. Then he offered one or two questions to us for group discussion. From this procedure, we can add our understanding about the context which we will learn during the class. In addition, sometimes, he suddenly stops his talking to require someone to give a talking about the current problem, which not only mobilize our positive attitudes to learn, but also providing students a chance to present themselves. Therefore, students can got much benefit from participating the talking during the classes.

Moreover, permitting students to join their talking is also helpful to teachers. For teachers, if they want to exam whether their teaching got good effect or not, talking from student is one better way. For instance, during our English classes, our American teachers divide students into several groups. Then give us the same topic to discuss and he heard what we talked about. From the process, he can find whether our pronunciation is correct and give us relevant training. Besides, he also which aspects we need more exercises, such as speaking, words, sentences or grammars. Talking from student can make he know that what degree his knowledge had been deserved and examine his teaching indirectly.

However, we should not ignore the advantage of classes during which only teachers lecture. For students or teachers, if there are only lectures given by teachers, it saves much time for them. Teachers can teach more contexts or knowledge to students, and students can learn more from their teachers.

In conclusion, thought classes where only teachers lecture also have advantages to students, for me, I prefer to the ones where students can do some of the talking which not only to add my interesting and efficiency of learning in classes, but also is significant to teachers
