Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes. Others believe that going to classes should be optional for students. Which point of view do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer.

University students are one step away from walking into the society. They are physiologically adults but still green in making profound decisions. Therefore, I would agree with the idea that they should be required to attend classes, with the condition of allowing them to get exempted for special reasons.

University is a place where people have professional education and skillful training. It is much more major-oriented than general educations in high schools. Before entering a university, students have already selected a major or, at least to a broad sense, have decided their goal of study. The study schemes in each department are specifically designed for their students, and those obligatory courses are esteemed to be crucial for professions. As a result, it is a reasonable requirement for everyone to attend classes. It is through such an academic training that students can be competent in their future career. If the attendance can not be guaranteed, it is hard to assure the educational quality, because everybody has a tendency of laziness. Thus making class attendance mandatory will benefit students with learning knowledge.

Another reason to advocate the idea of attendance requirement is concerned with disciplines. Falling into a habit of obeying the rules or policies is desirable way for people to grow up and get aware of responsibility. Students will finally enter the society and take care of their own business. In universities, high academic performance recognizes a student as excellent, whereas in the society, people’s success is more related to their personality. Be a disinclined person is an indispensable manner for people to earn trust and shun from corruptions. Hence requiring students to attend classes will train their personality.

Of course we have some difficulty in full attendance and there might be a certain degree of emergency. People are human beings and we share understandings as well as considerations. Should there be any special reason with adequate supporting documents, there should be exemptions from punishment. What is needed to emphasize is the distinction between asking for leave from an obligatory courses and taking a course as option.

In a nutshell, the requirement of class attendance is a beneficial way for students to building up professional skills. It can also be viewed as a training of personality which will effect their future career and life. Optional attendance should be given up since it causes chaos in class management and might diminish the educational quality.

我的意思是这样子的:我也认为题目确实是不是在单讲必修与选修的关系,破题有多方面角度,你的角度是可以的,但看的时候觉得有点绕:) 我记得上XDF的时候,老师比较强调主旨句,因为毕竟评卷人看卷子不会每个都很细致.必须在首句抓住要点.所以虽然出发点很好,但评卷人万一跟不上你思路就不好了.

还有一点建议如开始所说,就是两点比较的题目,另一方面最好文中也有涉及,这样会显得论述比较完整:loveliness:
