The point of view presented above is that tourism will soon become obsolete because of the thriving of television and worldwide computer connections, which allow people to be able to get to know a lot of places all over the world. In my viewpoint, tourism will be never obsolete for the appearance of television and networks, since the aim of tourism is much more than just touring.

People go travelling not only for the beautiful scenery but also for the experiences during the trip. We can see some familiar situations in some movies which often based on travelling, for instance, 'The Blueberry Night' and 'Sideways'. The former is a recent movie made by a famous Chinese director called Wong Jiawei, the girl in the movie went on a trip because of some sad things, met different people and learned to be brave and optimistic from them. The latter one told us a story that two middle-aged men went on a trip around U.S.A when they were in a critical time of their life and during the trip they gradually figured out what they confused and puzzled for a long time. We can know from these famous movies that people go travelling more than just for seeing gorgeous scenery.

Moreover, despite going travelling for experiences, people go for different reasons, such as eating the delicious local snack, buying souvenirs or making pictures etc.. Those things can never be replaced by television and computer connections, which can only have when you are in the exact place. Also, some people regard travelling as a kind of research, to take Darwin as an example, he toured around the world, investigating a variety of creatures and shaping his evolution theories. Furthermore, many people prefer to have homestay in local families so that they can learn more about the original culture and customs. And travelers go for such kind of aims cannot be satisfied by indirect touring which comes from television and websites.

However, the situation presented above that people will not go to those places that they get to know from television and worldwide computer connections although they have never been there. In this way, tourism will be affected to some extent. But while a second consideration is taken, every resort and travel industry sites can be advertised worldwide through television and websites, which will certainly helps to attract more people and boom tourism. A famous Chinese ancient town Wuzhen Town was once unknown to public, but when it is advertised on Shanghai TV, the town was suddenly full of traveler came from the whole country even foreign countries and it is still crowded nowadays. The thriving of modern technology do helps to improve travel industry from all meanings.

In sum, tourism can give people a lot, which can never be replaced by television or computer connections. What I mean is that people go travelling for different aims and most of them need people to be the tourist spot exactly by themselves, which can cause nothing but the continuous development of tourism.
