TOPIC: ISSUE47 - "Society does not place enough emphasis on the intellect-that is, on reasoning and other cognitive skills."

With the advent of the information era, rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity, all kinds of capacity are become more important than ever before. The speaker assers that society does not pay enough attention on the intellect. However, in my point of view, society has place so much emphasis on such things, but as you know ,it is a complex problem which need more time and power to resolve it. My position would be supported through the following perspectives.

To begin with, our society is taking effort on the development of intellect all the time even through ancient time. Without the cultivation of intellect, modern society cannot continuely exist and develop. For example, in ancient time, our ancestor teach their children to read, write, and analyze the affairs happened in the world which reforme the original cognition of the world for our ancestor. Based on such skills, our society developed and developed to modern time. If our ancestor did not know anything about hunt, fishing and farming, they will be eliminated by nature. Human beings will not exist in the world anymore. So, human are always keep the point that intellect is important even at the first they just use it to survive.

Today, the public are trying their best to place so much emphasis on intellect. When we are in our mother's venter, our parents are ready to enlighten our intellect. This is what we called "prenatal education", such as the mother listens music and readsome classic and so forth. We are taught that these actions will make our children more intelligent in the future. When we are little child, our parents and teachers invent a lot of good ways to make us recognize the world. For instance, when a bird flies away, parents tell us what the kind of the bird, and why it flies to other place; when leaves fall down trees in the autumn, they teache us the change of weather during the four seasons. When we grow up, we are trained to analyze some issues that logical though are necessary. All these things indicat that society are place much emphasis on intellect.

However, our life become complex and more challengable. Even somthing we human cannot recognize, what we can do is to do reseach on them, finding more reasons to support our points, and strength our cognitive skills to our nature. Decades ago, we does not know anything about the moon, but now we human has photoed the moon in a very close distant, and even we human has walked on the surface of the moon. This is a surprise to all the people in the world when the American pilot move his first step on the moon. Then, we can step far more information about the moon. Thus, with the development of society, the inteect of human is also inreasing, we never stop emphasising our intellect, no matter through what.

In sun, it is necassary and of great significance for society pay attention and more finace on intellect. And I believe the potential of human power and intellect is infinitute. With the emphasis on it we can achieve to a much more bette society than now, though it it good now, but in the future ,it will be better.
