你认为接下来20 年汽车的使用会不会减少（周一作业）

It has long been a controversial issue that whether the use of automobile will decrease in the following 20 years. Different people hold different viewpoints. Some assert that in order to keep our environment from further pollution; people will reduce the use of automobile. However, from my point of view, I can hardly agree with this statement after deep consideration. I will explain my opinion based on the following reasons.

First of all, the production of automobile will not be lessened. For the majority of developed or less developed countries, industry of automobile holds the balance on the percentage of a nation’s GDP. While most of those countries will set down some relevant policies for protecting environment, like increasing the price of fossil fuel so as to debase the use of automobile, they will not really take some strict measures to restrain the production of automobile. Because it will result in serious economy losses that they are afraid of tremendously. For example, if Japan restrict of the production of TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION, the Japanese economy will encounter a severe impact.

In the next place, none of other vehicles could replace or influence the status of the automobile in the transportation in the following predictable decades. If conditions permit, most of people will take the automobile as their fist choice when they plan to travel, visit, or work. The main reason is the convenience from it. For instance, if you travel a place not very far from your home by your car, you can enjoy yourselves in the beautiful scenery without the concern of missing the scheduled flight and visit every scenic point follow your inclinations.

Last but not least, the people’s consciousness of environmental protection will not be stepped up in barely 20 years. Although most of countries are advocating riding bicycle or walking when the distance from your start to destination is not very long. It has less effect especially in some less developed countries. The chief reason is people of those countries hold low consciousness of environmental protection. In other words, the quality of people is not high enough to realize this problem or even though they have realized it but not willing to take actions.

As we know, enhancing people’s quality is a considerably hard and time-consuming job.

There, taking all above-mentioned reasons into consideration, we can see decreasing the use of automobile in the following 20 years is less possible. Because the production of car will not be allayed, no other vehicles could replace automobile, and the consciousness of environmental protection will not be improved rapidly in the next 20 years
