Has Technology made children less creative than they were in the past?（周四作业）

Several decades ago, people lived a relatively simple life. The industrialization however, has made our life in the 21st century more complex with the development of political, economy and culture. Especially new technology has changed the world and the people living here in the world. whether or not our children become less capable of creation? Personally, I intend to advocate that they are less creative than before.

First, they are passive information accepter. They are trained to be a couch-potato by the highly developed media environment. By leaning in the sofa, they could get access into a large amount of information within several seconds. In this situation, young children seldom seek for information initially, let alone create something new by themselves. They have TV, news paper, internet, all sorts of media act as a tutor teaching them how to solve every concrete problem that confronted them in their daily life. For example, when I was confused by the way of cooking noodles I could google a recipe via internet instead of bothering to figure out a personal specific. It is no denying that we are living in a second-hand-information society, we need dependence over creation.

Secondly, the establishment of creativity is based on the concentration of a specific filed and the ability to make an ideal feasible. Obviously, to focus on certain subject would be a hard task for young children. They are pull forth to a variety of information, in which they could not easily choose the essential information that fits them. They could always be distracted by other information that seems appealing and exciting. We all deem Bill Gates as an IT genius who possess a high aptitude of creation. And as we know, he is infatuated with computer since he was a little boy. He keep on working in this field for more than twenty years. After that, he presents his magic of making dreams come true. That is what we say creativity. To the contrary, young children, we may find them with a broader rang of interests nowadays. They are versatile generalists without the capacity of creativity in specific realms.

By and board, the development of society helped develop us into passive learner, and with the distraction they produced young children are gradually become less creative.
