agree or disagree that: University should let students learn at least one course of culture of a country rather than their own(2007.10.17)
Each nation has its own particular culture. To learn the culture is a way to better know the country. It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether students should learn at least one other country's culture. Personally, I support this issue and I would like to explore several reasons as follow.
The first reason for my propensity to learn other country's culture is that this is an efficient method to better understand the advantages and disadvantages of our own culture. As it is known to us, to compare and contrast is an important method of study, it allows us to carefully observe everything in a more profound and comprehensive way. For example, to learn the advantage of America’s culture about pursuing freedom and creativity, we Chinese students could realize that our tradition about following orders and principles might deny our personality as well as individuality. On the contrary, Chinese work hard because they believe diligence leads to success while Americans are less industry for the reason that they hold a belief that talent determine success.
Another essential reason is that to learn a different culture is actually a seasonable way to broaden the students’ vision and knowledge. As far as I am concerned, by learning a country’s culture, such as their traditional rite and food, the special festivals, the particular manner, the old building and so on, students could obtain considerable knowledge about the country. What is more, there may be some students who are attracted by the course and would like to further study the country which is introduced during class. These students will probably go on studying the very kind of culture by reading books and searching other materials, as a result, they can learn more by themselves. In a word, to open such a course is beneficial to students.
Admittedly, priority always coexists with inferiority. The drawbacks of this issue are undeniable. On the one hand, nowadays, the burden of study is already too heavy for the students to bear. Many students are tired of taking courses. On the other hand, although students have known a lot of their own culture, many of them may be more likely to deeply study their own culture but not another kind of culture. The problem comes: whether opening such course will be welcomed or hatred by the students? I have to say my answer is a negative one.
To sum up, though to open another course about learning other country’s culture might be difficult to realize, it goes without saying that the benefits it has carry more weight than its drawbacks.

Another essential reason is that to learn a different culture is actually a seasonable way to broaden the students’ vision and knowledge. As far as I am concerned(不是这么用的,前面必须要有别人的观点,可以用To be specific,告诉读者接下来我要展开讨论了), by learning a country’s culture, such as their traditional rite and food, the special festivals, the particular manner, the old building and so on,(这种举例的话,一般三个比较好,多了也没多大意义) students could obtain considerable knowledge about the country. What is more, there may be some students who are attracted by the course and would like to further study the country which is introduced during class. These students will probably go on studying the very kind of culture by reading books and searching other materials, as a result, they can learn more by themselves. On the other hand, although students have known a lot of their own culture, many of them may be more likely to deeply study their own culture but not another kind of culture. (这里的逻辑是转折吗,尽管学生已经对本国文化了解很多,他们更有可能深入学习本国文化)The problem comes: whether opening such course will be welcomed or hatred by the students? I have to say my answer is a negative one.(前面是一个Whether A or B的问题, 不是A or A not, 而你的答案是negative,你没说清楚你到底倾向A 还是 B)
