it is better to work for a large company than for a small company (2006.11.3)

The size of company is one of the factors that we consider when we search for a position. Either large companies or small companies have their own advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, a large company is better for me than a small company because it provides more opportunities and resources.

In the first place, a large company means more opportunities than a small company. First, a large company has more positions for both freshmen and seniors. Some might argue that small companies provide more opportunities. However, a small company do not have abundant positions for people to choose. On the contrary, a employee in a large company has more opportunities to promote. Second, people in a large company have more chances to learn from other people around them. Obviously, the number of employees in a large company is higher than a small company. That is, people in it need to contact with more people. Consequently, different people will bring us distinct knowledge.

In the second place, a large company involves more resources than a small company. The human resource is a significant resource for a businessman. Besides coworkers around, there are also more suppliers, clients and government officers  who are dealing with a large company. All these people, will play a significant role in one's career development. For example, if I get a new position in another company, I can easily get accustomed to it when I possess these resources. I can easily find a supplier I need because I am familiar with them and know which one is appropriate. Or, when a new policy is applied by government, friends working in government can detail the concerns for me to avoid loss because of violences on the new policy.

In addition, in gerneral, a large company also means higher salary than a small company. The amount of salary is one of the most important factors on which we make the career decision because higher income will bring us a more comfortable life. If I face a choice between higher salary and lower salary, I will definitely choose the former one.

All in all, a large company will benefit us more than a small company. Hence, I prefer to work in a large company.

When we search jobs, the size of a company would be take into serious consideration. It is tough to say whether large companies or small ones have more advantages. Howevers as for me, a large company is a better choice due to more opportunities and richer resources obtained there, which could contribute to my success to a larger extent.

In the first place, a large company provides more chances than a small one. To start with, employees in big groups, especially international corporations, hold more likelihood to be trained in various positions, for example, in P&G, the top maker of fast moving comsumer goods, human resource department would arrange newcomer or senior workers into yearly rotation. Thereby, people can have more accesses to new experiences. Contrastly, due to the limited capitals, poorer cultures and worse organizations, small companies cannot serve their workers as well as their large opponents. Secondly, when working in a big company, a person is more likely to be encountered with different individuals of various backgrounds. During dalily communication with his or her workmates, it is easier to earn interpersonal skills and absorb others' essence. Obviously, big companies supply better working surroundings to their employees and spark motivation and passion of them, whereby, companies and people profit mutually.

有几点困惑：
1，opponent可以和competitor混用吗？觉得两者的含义不同。
2，absorb others' essence. 意思我理解，不过觉得不能用absorb，中文有吸收的说法，但英文不行。essence也不太符合。
请指教。

其实当你对一个用法不熟悉的时候，google一下，比如你把absorb essence放到搜索框里面，如果会有很多结果，ok！这个用法可以成立！

absorb others' experiences 也是可以的！
opponent competitor都可以用，你就当作替换吧！

In addition, generally, a large company would pay its employees more handsome salaries than a small one. In real life, people cannot survive without sufficient fianical supporting, especially in these years when price hike gradually becomes one of the top concerns for us. As is pragmatic, a rising number of job hunters would put a high salary into first consideration. So it is self-evident that when persons are forced to make decisions, they would undoubtedly commence the jobs leading to more money.

对你文章的几点意见！首先我托福作文是28分，然后也写了一些综述和读了很多论文，基本来说还是大概知道什么文章算是readable的！
1)你必须找出三个点，而且不能交叉
2）不要使用任何模板，自然的流出句子就足够了
3)不要用难词，一定要地道，可以借助google来make sure how to use them.
4)多用细节支持，这样文章长而且不会挤牙膏
5）加强练习和多找人修改，必然可以有所提高，祝你成功！
