With the development of the society, people would like to spend more and more time on personal enjoyment, but is the time too much? I don’t think so.
When things we like to do contradict what we should do, most of us choose the latter, because it is a basic part of being an adult. No one likes to be assigned to do boring things, but the situation is the world needs order and can’t make everyone have fun. For example, a plumber, who needs to repeat repair works in dirty environment, maybe prefer to playing cards with friends every day, but the reality is he needs the money to take care of his family. Or, not a lot of people enjoy cleaning the house, but they should do unless they want the house to become a refuse dump.
Sometimes, people choose to spend more time on their interest rather than on the responsibility. I don’t think the kind of phenomenon is always good, it depends. When the interest has no harm to him/herself or the society, we should respect his/her willingness, such as a poor painter who loves painting so much that he does not have spare energy to support his life. But when the interest is very hazardous to the person’ future or the society, we should condemn and fight with it. Nowadays, there are so many students addicting in the network games that they often skip classes. Or, some one kills a poor stranger just because s/he likes the feeling of making people afraid and pain. Is this activity, spending much time on personal enjoyment rather than what they should do, right? Absolutely, the answer is wrong. Good luck is this kind of people is just a small part.
So, in my opinion, maybe the time that people spend on their enjoyment is increasing, but it is not more than that spent on their responsibility. For the people who spend too much time on their interest, we should treat them on circumstances, support harmless interests while resist hazardous ones.
