11月25日 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement. It is more important to award students for effort (trying or hard working) than for achievement (good grades).
怎么感觉很难写啊!我的思路枯竭了!愁人啊~

When it comes to the question of award, views vary from divergent people. Some people deem that students should be awarded for their try-outs or hard working. But other people reckon that schools should reward students for their achievements or good grades. From my perspective, I agree with the latter opinion that only for the good grades, can students be awarded prize.

On one hand, it is imperative for the reward to have a criteria which can be well-recognized. According to the standard of reward, schools make final decision that whether a student has the qualification to be awarded or not. For example, a principal in a school has the right to set a standard for the scholarship, no other students can be awarded the prize for study, but those students whose grade point average reach 7.0 or more. In that way, those students have all qualification to be prized for their good grades. Furthmore, as to the school, this makes it feasible to take control over the system of scholarship. In contrast, students can be rewarded only because of their effort or hard working. This would cause the problem of management in scholarship. In short, it can be said that students should be awarded only by their good marks.

On the other hand, good scores can act as a stimulating factor that motivate other students strive for study. If schools award students scholarship for their achievements, other students could be inspired by them to struggle for good grades. This can form a good atmosphere of study among students. Moreover, those who obtain prizes for their good grades set a excellent examples for other students. Take myself for instance, in the second year of my college, I was awarded the third grade of sholarship. I was so excited and proud of myself. However, I was not contented with it because my goals was to acquire the first level of scholarship. I tried my best to study for my further target and set an example of my classmates who got the first level of scholarship. And finally, in the second semester of the third year in my college, I made good grades and was rewarded with scholarship that I was longing for. Therefore, the good example is powerful for students who want to make achievements.

From what I have discussed above, I believe that it is more important to reward students for their good grades than for effort.
