In this argument, the arguer recommends that Ida McAllister would be wise to announce her intention to close all Lake City parks to automobile traffic. To justify this claim, the arguer points out that mayor Yu successfully solving the pollution problem and improving the quality of life in Plainville by prohibiting automobile traffic in all Plainsville parks. In addition, the arguer reasons that Ida McAllister's action would appeal the citizens of Lake City, most of whom participate in the community's recycling program, and McAllister would surly be successful in her current quest to Lake City's new mayor. However, the argument suffers from several critical fallacies.

First, the argument is based on a false analogy. The arguer simply assumes that McAllister can gain the same success by showing her commitment to environmental causes by following Yu's example, but he does not provide any evidence that the two cites have the same number of parks and the same traffic conditions. Perhaps there are only two parks in Lake City, then such proposal makes no sense . Or maybe Lake City is a city of gardens and parks, this prohibition would damage the traffic condition badly. Without convincing me all the other aspects of these two cities are same, I cannot believe that Mayor Yu's prohibition could be applied in Lake City as well.

Second, the arguer fails to examine the reason why McAllister was defeated in the last election. Maybe her capability is inferior to her opponent. Or any other factors lead to the failure. Therefore, even though her proposal to close all Lake City parks to automobile traffic would be succeed, there is no guarantee that she would be successful in the current election.

Last but not least, the arguer reasons that this action would appeal citizens who participate in the community's recycling program, and would guarantee McAllister's success. However, community's recycling program have no direct relationship with environment. Maybe some people attend this activity just for fun or for enriching their daily life or for some other reasons. The less percent of people involve in recycling program truly concerned about environmental affairs, the less people would be appealed by her action. Even if they know what McAllister has done, they would not vote her as the mayor for sure in the current mayor election. So the arguer's conclusion that such action would guarantee McAllister's success is unconvincing.

In conclusion, as it stands the argument is unpersuasive. To bolster it the author must show that Lake City's environmental would surely be improved after the prohibition of automobile traffic in all city parks. The author must also convince me that more citizens would choose McAllister as the mayor after such action. To better assess the argument it would be useful to know why McAllister failed in the last election four years ago. Also useful would be any information about Lake City's mayor now.

The arguer simply assumes that McAllister can gain the same success 。楼主再确认下by showing her commitment to environmental causes by following Yu's example, but he does not provide any evidence that the two cites have the same number of parks and the same traffic conditions. Perhaps there are only two parks in Lake City,与此同时Yu市长的city有几个park呢,具体点 then such proposal makes no sense .

So the arguer's conclusion that such action would guarantee McAllister's success is unconvincing.
In conclusion, as it stands the argument is unpersuasive.
