Topic 15 Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.

Most of the people, nowadays, do not live on this planet all alone. If there was not somebody living in the same house with you, there would at least be someone next door. A good neighbor can make your life easier and happier than it could be, while a terrible one could ruin our lovely home life.

A good neighbor is, fundamentally, a good person. s/he would not be necessarily gorgeous, accomplished, or well-known, but should be honest and responsible. S/he would not abandon their front garden in a mess, or leave the garbage out of the garbage tin. S/he would not stuck the escaping path of the apartment with dumped stuffs of her/him. What s/he do is completing the duty of being a citizen and a member of the community.

After that, a basic but extremely important quality of a good neighbor is being considerate. There are people who plays unbearable loud music late at night; who has no respect for the privacy of others, etc. On the contrary, a considerate neighbor will be careful with their behaviors which might disturb others or hurt their feeling.

Moreover, a nice person living next door could be even more than just considerate. They would not only be just a kind friend, but one who comes up when you are in need. There are times when emergency strikes us unprepared, and we have no access to our family or friends far away. Maybe we fall on the slippery floor and unfortunately broke our leg, or have to go back to work and leave our little child alone at home. A good neighbor would not mind giving us a hand. They might even come up voluntarily and offer us their help and kindness.

A good neighbor, after all, may not solve all our problems or ease all our pains. However, such a person living next door will definitely add to our life a little relief and a little happiness, well, maybe a lot.
