In current time, the relationship between politics and morality becomes popular; some people believe that morality has nothing to do with politics while other citizens trust that politics and morality has a tight association. In my opinion, I maintain that politics and morality are not two separated field, or in other word, stable politics is based on the realm of morality.

I concede that the morality has mentioned here does not mean the daily honesty in common sense. It has a broader boundary in definition which means policies made by the government of political leader should not devastate the benefits of citizens in the country or even around the world. As we all known that the realm of politics is a area full with competition, or sometimes we can consider it as a game, which makes the participants, especially the leaders, must learn to discard some individual honesty in order to win the game and defeat their rivals, and it is easy to see that a politician who were totally honest, which make his rivals to understand him so well that, obviously, he may lose in the process of competing. If he cannot get the first place in the competition, he has no chance to make his idea of politics in to reality, and without that, it is meaningless to thought over the relationship between politics and morality. And political leaders are not moralist, although they should has high consciousness of morality, we should not require them to be the perfect people who with the highest sense of morality.

However, once a person became political leader of society, he must take morality into account, for a leader who goes against with morality will be discarded by their citizens quickly and will be corrupted soon. A political leader should have a consciousness of the importance of morality in the realm of politics, thus he may make a decision wiser for morality is a confine to their power. If not, the leader may become a depot and use the power to accomplish his own ambition which may ruin the all politics and provoke resists of citizens. Apt example included Benito Mussolini who is a strong supporter of fascist and, at last, his regime has been overthrew by the angry and desperate people around the world. From that we could see that morality is the basis of the democratic and stable politics, and people who are political leaders must have high sense of morality.

Last but not least, in some particular time or situations, morality should give way to politics in the effort to protect the country. For instance, if a war break out, political leaders should do their best to win the war to protect the country regardless how many soldiers were killed in the battlefield, or the country may be occupied by the enemy. And if a leader at that very time is considering about morality all the same and do not want to kill anyone for the reason of morality, the all country may be suffered at last. Thus, a real meaning of morality for a political leader is to try him best to avoid a war or keep peace in the ground of safeness of his country and citizens. Nevertheless, once the war broke out, the leader should put his morality aside and set politics at first place in order to safeguard his soil and people.

In sum, politics and morality has strong contacts with each other, not two separate realm as someone believes. Leaders of politics should have high consciousness of morality or their regime will be turned over easily, whereas we should not request them too grindingly for they are also common people, not deities.
