Automobiles offer both convenience and harm to humans in the past and now. According to their disadvantages, quite a few experts predict that automobiles would be replaced by other vehicles. In my view, however, the number of automobiles would be less likely to decrease in the future.
First of all, the users of cars would still increase responding to the increasing population in the world(the increase of population in the world) and the improving living standards( the improvement of living standards). In spite of the policy of birth control implemented in many countries, increasing population is an avoidable fact. Thus in the extended 20 years, more and more people would have to drive cars to commute to and from between their workplace and home. There will be more transportation means – such as - buses, cars, or even truncks.
In addition, as the expansion of the advanced road and highway systems, more and more people are likely to choose cars as their main transportation means. There will be more (?) broad, tree-lined roads; more developed bus lines; and more comfortable cars in the 20 years. Therefore, the number of citizens who are fond of automobiles would increase.
Finally, automobiles are to humans are what fish are to water. For instance, because of the increasingly severe air pollution exhausted from cars in the cities, more and more people in the future would like to live in the countryside for better living conditions. The fresh air, acres of grass, and the quiet have magic power and do wonders for dwellers. Hence, due to the convenience of automobiles, residents are more likely to drive to cities for work, and for entertainment.
Of course, the automobiles are not do not mean everything for human beings. Other transportation means in or of themselves have their merits. For example, the air planes may be more suited to the long distance trip; trains may be faster; subways may cause less air pollutions.
By and large, although trains, airplanes, and subways are always available in the cities, more and more dwellers would be crazy about automobile.
