Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

With the development of technology, more and more people now are using cell phones or computers to read instead of printed books. But does that mean printed books are going to disappear in our day-to-day lives? I doubt it. Printed books have their own unique and desirable qualities.

Reading printed books have a totally different traditional experience which reading through a screen couldn’t offer. For example, some of my friends used to read novels on a cell phone, but now they choose to read traditional books which are familiar to them and they found out reading on a screen could be harmful to their eyes.

Moreover, other than that different experience, another factor that makes printed books important is the traditional way of education. It is widely accepted that most teachers prefer their students using traditional books rather than electrical books. Have you ever seen a scenario that students are supposed to operate computer to study in class while they are actually doing nothing with study? To be honest, most students in my class, including myself, when using computers, tend to play games on it, rather than concentrating on study. It needs a tremendous amount of self-discipline for students to achieve the supposed effect. Therefore, printed books are and will always be important to education.

What’s more, it feels good to collect all your favorite writer’s books. I have a collection of all the books of my favorite writer, Jin Yong, one of the most popular writers in my country. Every time watching all these books on shelf, I feel really good. However, if printed books are disappeared in this planet, all the joy of collection brought by traditional books would disappear.

However, reading on a screen do has its advantages. It is convenient and handy. You can read whenever and wherever you want to read. Nevertheless, printed books can’t be replaced by electrical ones because of the unique qualities of them which have been illustrated above.

Based on the above statements, I don’t think that printed book will not be used in the future.
