There are two different groups of people in spending their spare time: people who prefer to stay alone, and people who like to be with friends most of the time. Both people have their own advantages and disadvantages. In this essay, I will compare each advantage and present my preference.

On one hand, some people prefer spending spare time alone. People in this kind are usually the ones who are either elder or with a timid personality. They say that it is really busy in the modern society, people have few time to relax themselves. When they have a holiday, they really want to get away from the outside world and enjoy the quiet and peace alone. Besides, by spend spare time the schedule for holiday is quite flexible. They can do whatever they want with out thinking about others’ time or interest. And also, they think the spare time is a good opportunity for them to think about something on work or life or even future.

On the other hand, compare to the people above, people who hold the opinion that they prefer to be with their friends are younger and more open. They like to hang out with friends talking about the staff on work. Sometimes they can get really valuable suggestion to problems from them. Also, they enjoy the feeling of staying with friends. They say that in big cities, young men are far from their families, staying with friends gives them the feeling that they are not alone in the big city. Another important reason is that being with friends can not only keep better friendship with old friends but also meet some new friends who may be somewhat helpful in the future.

In conclusion, I think that how to spare peoples’ spare time is a personal question. It varies from one by one. Compare to saying which one is better, I can just say the latter one is my preference. Friends mean so much to me that I can not live without them. The best part is that I have many kinds of friends, classified by myself, friends for talking with, friends for shopping, friends for drinking and so on. My friends can not only dispel the loneliness but also give me advices about my work and life.
