Letting a friend make a mistake is better than saying or doing something that may destroy the friendship

Like an old saying goes: a friend in need is a friend in deed. Every one needs friends no matter at schools or in society. Friends assist people to reduce pressure and urge them to make progress. However, when one faces the situation like preventing friends from making mistake may destroy the friendship, he/she will have different viewpoints. From my perspective, I tend to acclaim that people should provide proper advice to stop friends to do something wrong even if it will be harmful to relationship.

To begin with, a real friend will appreciate the suggestion that could avoid a negative situation. Most of people know that the best way to know someone is to observe his/her friends circles. Hence, humans with optimistic characters and enjoyable personality are always welcomed. People also tend to share their personal life with those friends. For instance, one of my friends had planned to have business on pirated movies, which is illegal but profitable. In China, people who have desire to buy pirated need someone to introduce as those sellers are pretty cautious. I suggested my friend not to follow it due to that he probably will have an obscure life; besides, he may be arrested by the police some day. At the beginning, my friend was not satisfied with my reaction. After a few days observation and many of pirated movies sellers being caught and fined in a routine check, my friend really appreciated to take my suggestion. That helps him not to get involved in a trouble.

However, not preventing friends from a mistake will destroy friendship. As adults, they should have wisdom to figure out who is the true friend. The most awful thing is to misunderstand a sincere advice from friends. For me, I prefer good advice otherwise they are not real friends if know I will be wrong. Therefore, it is not reasonable to keep friendship with them. Because it will harm myself to be with those people who are not care about me.

To conclude, as mature people, they should make sense that it is luck and appreciable to have friends who could prevent their mistakes. Otherwise, friendship will be meaningless.
