Do you agree or disagree: Most people prefer others making decision for them than making a decision for themselves.. s( J

Life is full of selections, which could range from the main dish you eat in dinner to the university you want to go. Undoubtedly, sometimes making decision is disturbing and annoying. However, do most people prefer others making decision for them? I think the answer is definitely no.

Admittedly, a few people like others to arrange their life. It is because that sometimes people just want to live easier and do not have to think. For example, there is a restaurant near my home, whose most popular dessert is called “whatever”. If you order “whatever”, the restaurant will decide what the dessert is and you do not have to make choice. The popularity of the dessert reveal the desire of people: let others make decision for me.

Although living in an arranged life is easy, I believe most people still want to be the master of their life. The first reason is people can not get true happiness in the decision that others make. In the example I took above, although people could get their dessert without worry of choosing, they do not necessarily like the dessert. Moreover, there is another proof. Last statics suggest that college students whose major is chosen by parents are more likely to change their major and think campus life uninteresting.


Furthermore, people who usually do things which they choose are more likely to be succeed. Theodore Roosevelt once confessed, “There is nothing brilliant nor outstanding in my record, except perhaps this one thing: I do the things that I believe ought to be done.” I believe Roosevelt’s words best illustrate my point. If a person just does things that others ask he or she do and never make a decision by himself or herself, how could he or she to be succeed? It is no doubt that everyone wants to be success and almost every people understand the principle,” only by making right decision and working hard can we succeed.” Therefore, it is not hard to conclude that most people like making decisions for themselves, because everyone wants success.

All in all, life is mysterious and challenging just because it is filled with selections. People can live once and only have one chance to the master of their life. Therefore, why we do not decide the life ourselves and have a wonderful one?
