2.10 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important for families to regularly eat their meals together.


It is common to see Chinese families live together in the past decade, members of a family would eat together after a day's work. However, things change nowadays as this traditional style of family no longer exists the same as it used to be, but the relationship of family members will by no means be ruined as a result, thus, in my opinion, the dinner for reunion is necessary for families.

First and for most, people will not have the sense of belonging unless they have connections with family members regularly and meals are an important symbol of family love. From my own experience, I used to live with my family since I was bore, after graduation from high school, I had to leave my hometown to begin a new period of college life in Beijing, everytime I was caught up in trouble in my study, the potent power for me to persist is the delicious food cooked by my mother, which remind me of the love of my family and my returning for a reunion at the end of the semester.

What's more, there are no better chances for family members to have conversations with each other than getting together for dinner regularly. Family members could have a deep talk with each other when having dinner together, when you have trouble, it is the right time to pour it out to your close relatives who will always stand by your side, or you could share your enjoyment with them, or talk about your recent plan, and they may give you precious suggestions and encourage you in most cases.

Nevertheless, it may be unrealistic for many families to get together regularly, especially those who live far away from each other. However, many alternatives could be used to achieve the same result, such as making a telephone call, chatting on the Internet through which we can communicate through not only typing words, speeking on a microphone, but also instant video images of each other. With the convenience modern technology brings, we could communicate with our family more regularly despite the limitation of time and distance,
