society." 艺术（绘画、音乐、文学等）展现了那些隐藏的观点和社会的脉动。

The author claims that the arts can reveal hidden ideas and impulses of a society. As far as I am concerned, art roots in real life and beyond the range of normal life. From kinds of arts, not only can we appreciate the art and aesthetics, but also we really can reveal implication and even impulses of a society behind the arts, so I basically agree with the author say that the art through various periods to reflect then society's material and spiritual conditions can be provided future generations an understanding of history.

Since the arts derive from people’s real lives, they usually describe the feelings and attitudes of individual in a society as well as reflect the live condition of people and the actual situation of a society. They also tend to represent what people consider and where a society will go. An example is aptly to illustrate this point. Ah Q LuXun, a famous Chinese writer in 80’s last century. From his large amounts of works, people might reveal ah Q LuXun’s intense attention to express corruption of bureaucratic government and poverty of plebs as he saw at that time.

What’s more, arts can disclose us other hidden ideas and impulses of a society. Under some circumstances, hide thoughts in society is indispensible, arts is one of the best ways to make public those hidden ideas. Why a society or people may hide some ideas and impulses? Two situations will explain that human being’s feeling have no way out even rest on some work of arts.
Lack of democracy in a society is the most possible lead to people would hide some ideas. In such a condition, if there is a controversy between one who hold view appeals to equally and administrators holds that cast is essential. Another one is, artists often conceive some ideas or feelings are so abstract and delicate to express explicitly. Take one of the abstract painter representative-Dali-as an example, who casually paint in his home and exerts his capricious ideas into his painting even his designed unique furniture made for his wife.

Admittedly, arts is really one of the best ways to show those hidden ideas for the reason that there are many ways provides by art to intensively express those hidden ideas. Such as the imagination of life in the future, the depiction of real life through imagination way, the wonderful carrier of personal feelings, unconsciously involves the value of the society.

In sum, without art, society is short of an eye to discover; without art, human is lack of a way to deliver emotions. Thus, art works from different times to reveal some hidden ideas and impulses a society at that time even express the meaning and feelings enrich people's spiritual world and is still able to infect future generations of people.
