Times flies by and world of changes has occurred .It takes more that 3.4 million years for apes to human , but at same time , only give one day life for mayfly.In this topic ,we wind up our clock with 5 years ,as time tipping down , what will be changed and even been weep out ? In business ,for certain industry like high tech ,5 years can make ground breaking change , but for some transitional manufacturing industry , 5years can only make a apprentice to gain technical , let alone to bring up a leader. So it is too rush to say that if any enterprise want to sustain success , the only way is to regeneration management team every 5 years . The conclusion can't be same if we put the question in to different circumstance .

Admittedly , for some profession like political and government , it is very necessary to update the leadership after a few years , and for most of the cases , 5 years is a perfect time scale . It is unfortunate but true , that there is no perfect human being in this world . Each of us do have more or less moral flaws which can be disturbing sometime . To illustrate this point , we can cite a fact that corruption and power abuse are existed in every government on the earth. No matter how carefully and seriously we choose our government , no matter how severe and harsh our penalty is, no matter how civilize and moral our society is , fortune corruption and power abuse are always there just like an incurable tumor .In order to keep organ of authority objective and relatively clean , an effective way is to regenerate the leader team in cycle . That why in most of countries , the election will be hold in each of certain years , in U.S. is 4 years and in China is 5 years . In this circumstance , the transfer of power is essential.

However , the situation will be totally opposite in some other case like hand craft manufacturing and in the education for certain Sheol of thought . This kind of cases are hard to describe cause it too tiny and diversity , but it really turlly existed in our daily life. Like if one want to learn the thought of Confucianism , he or she would like to find an authority in this area , an important indicator to tell whether or not this directory is worth to follow is the time of he or she dominant this Sheol of thought . Time takes no harm in this case , with longer time , an academic researcher can dig more deeper and understand the thought more thorough , and will have more things to teach the student . And another truth we can not deny is in this kind of profession , 5 years is just an small rung to the ladder , it will take decades for an amateurs to be an expert , so even if there do contain flaws in the system , we can not find suitable leader to replace in such short time .So in this case ,sustain the leadership is crucial to keep the enterprise survival .


Besides the above two poins , revitalization through new leadership is not the only way to the maintain an enterprise and make it success . All roads lead to Rome , so does the path to success. We can always emphasize the importance of self learning and self training , especially to the leader team . And enterprise can offer them opportunity to keep up with times , like encourage them to go back to school or give training causes from time to time . What's more , the organization can keep replenishing new blood and new ideologies in to the team . New member in does not necessarily means the old member out , by blend thought together , there always be some sparkle. The last but not least is that the power tans fer procedure is not always a cheap way , it will come with huge opportunity cost . Just take election as example , the candidate need to invest tons of fortune and time in to it , make advertisement on TV , arrange public speaking tour and so on . Account all these aspects , rejuvenates is not the only way .

In the end , I'd like to say to strive for excellence is an merits in human instinct ion , but we need to broad our eye and avoid extreme recognition which will narrow our thoughts and do not good for our success . We can divided all these profession in to different group , give more detail research to each of them . The bound of "leadership" and "success of enterprise" are obvious and 5 years are play different role in different place , so to replace leadership is not the only way to make an organization move forward and this time scale is not an easy thing to decide , put more thought in to each cases is wise thing to do.
