Issue 28: Students should memories facts only(不对) after they have studied the ideas, trends, and concepts that help explain those facts. Students who have learned only facts have learned very little.(正确)

The one who emphasizes the importance of learning deeply may argue that those who have learned only facts would learn very little. As far as I am concerned, learning deeply or slightly depends whether we have to.
To begin with, the modern society needs professionals who are well-educated, such as doctors treating patients, teachers educating young kids, coaches training athletes, etc. People who are professionals in their respective areas now are all students years before. For example, prior to becoming a doctor, medical students have to learn the symptoms, causes, treatment options and so on, so as to better solve the pain for patients. Those who only knows his patient has caught a cold, but is puzzled over what kind of flu it is in details, might kill his patient someday. On the contrary, generalists are also well needed nowadays. However, this doesn’t mean that they just need to learn only facts. As premier, Wen Jiabao has one thousand and one things to do with national affairs, however, he is also familiar with many ancient poems and can cite them perfectly in his speeches. What if premier Wen only knows the poems but hasn’t understand them totally and thus use them by mistake? It would not only be a humiliation of himself, but the whole nation.
Admittedly that we all want to be well-educated, however, it is a certain process that we need to do everything. When we see a watermelon at fist sight, we may find it is green, then after cutting it open, we get to know that the flesh is red. Furthermore, tasting the flesh, we would get another message that it tastes sweet and juicy. It’s the same in studying. When learning something, students can’t get a fully understanding about it but a general concept, then after more and more analysis, students may get a comprehensive understanding about what they are learning. What students should always keep in mind is that Rome was not built in a day.
Last but not the least, students need to learn selectively. This is the era of great explosion of information, it is impossible to know everything like the palm of one's hand, people have to classify facts into those he wants to learn earnestly, those he wants to get a general understanding, those he don’t have to know, etc. Only through selective learning, it can be a real growth and harvest!

The one who emphasizes the importance of learning deeply may argue that those who have learned only facts would learn very little. As far as I am concerned, learning deeply or slightly depends(on) whether we have to.
To begin with, the modern society needs professionals who are well-educated, such as doctors treating patients, teachers educating young kids(这里觉得不合适,年轻的孩子们,光kids就足够年轻了,再加个young是什么,呵呵), coaches training athletes, etc. People who are professionals in their respective areas now are all students years before. For example, prior to becoming a doctor, medical students have to learn the symptoms, causes, treatment options and so on, so as to better solve the pain for(of可能好一些) patients. Those who only knows his(前后不一致those---knows his) patient has caught a cold, but is puzzled over what kind of flu it is in details, might kill his patient someday. It would not only be a humiliation of himself, but the whole nation.(我觉得分为专才和通才去议论不是太必要,因为两者都是要学习背后的trends,还是上面的问题,我读完觉得整段意思是说专才和通才社会都需要)
What students should always keep in mind is that Rome was not built in a day.(这段首先缺少一个主题句,或者第一句就是你的主题句,但是却太抽象,断尾也缺少总结句,例子我觉得还是很好的,但是问题就是你把例子都摆出来了,却没有表达出来你要说明的主题,)

Last but not the least, students need to learn selectively. This is the era of great explosion of information, it is impossible to know everything like the palm of one's hand, people have to classify facts into those he wants to learn earnestly, those he wants to get a general understanding, those he don’t have to know, etc. Only through selective learning, it can be a real growth and harvest!(facts和trends,你似乎理解为本专业的知识和其它专业的知识,我似乎觉得你通篇都在靠着专才和通才这个方向说,这个题目要讨论的核心问题是表面facts和背后解释facts的原理,题目的意思就是说知其然还要知其所以然)

最后,还缺少一个结尾

言辞有不敬,还请见谅,似乎是第一次写,别着急,每个人都是这样,先看几篇官方的或者版上的优秀范文,继续加油
